Connecting Branches – A Treeku Word Jam
It was such a cloudy beautiful day in Phar Lepht on Friday the mtmynded one and I had to take a ride...
pecan groves
outside the car window
branches wave
...
the cottonwoods squat
along the Rio Grande
~ancient Indians~
(whoops! now counting the syl-la-bells )
...
mesquite branches (pronounced mess-keet-tay)
hanging husks of dried beans
sparrow harmony
(enough of that counting stuff...hah!)
...
salt cedars
cling to the river bank-
illegal aliens
...
clouds over the mesa
nut trees wave in unison
hello rain
okay...I had a haiku surge!

hey dude, pass the jam...
o NO! I am gonna have to leave soon and I am all alone. Hah!
well, in that case I will jam a lone jam:
allepo pine
a one gallon pot
sprung up
...
pomegranates
dried shells of fruit
bird ornaments
...
aspens shiver
white trunks in winter
leaves take a dip
haikuing on a lake without an oar...

before the sun
the son also rises
cornball haijinks!
...
a brief flash
moon shows her breast
cloudy can-can dancer
...
if trees could talk, they wood... (Cecil B.)
...
under the pine
smoking a cigarette
you puff up
...
limbs embrace
pinecones in high branches~
love out of reach

bristlecone pine
bent by the wind
cliff notes
Yes...I guess I did spell 'laurel' right but I have a handy-dandy dictionary at my finger-types. I used laurel because it is a hardy tree.
moonlight sonata
serenading a lulluby
the cradle rocks
...
curled into a C
cat does the alphabet
middle way
...
beautiful trees
hugging the sky
ergo no ego
...
MT:
Daddy's wooden bird
thrown in the brush pile~
the Phoenix rises
bent by the wind
cliff notes
