Frederick, Maryland? or is it Hagerstown? The Monocacy River?
Back yard of the Potomac? Blam de lam, pop pop pop! Yes, that is
a KOOL town..."The Blair Witch Project" etc, etc. Trying to think, but
all I can manage is about 40 watts. On the way to Chambersburg, PA...

It is 1973 and we are smoking an interesting ciggy...all from "One Day in
the Life of Jackson Pete". I am my same old reliable self, always trying
for the right words for the occasion and getting them bass ackwards...
My patrons have picked me up on the highway 'cause I had a roving sign.

day break, day ache
fingers can't find the keys
lost em
lost somewhere over the rainbow
chased by red tape
fingers take a hike
leave this pummeled brain behind
no coffee enough
no melon uplifts
poor remnants of a heart
alone, in search of respite

LOVE the art! Banner material. Yes? Do you have a copy of it as wide as the banners?
....

And the rockets red glare
the bombs bursting in air
gave truth through the night
that America still loves war.

I for one am routing for independence from all violence.
No more war! Peace & love & cooperation for all.

"Bibimbap a lugey boogie boogie bam clang!"
Pound those swords into plowshares,
Try to do the peace thing, show we cares,
Hear our prayers, Lord, & what we just sang...

safe and sane fireworks
little "illegals" as we call them
(against the law in our county but not in the next county over)

mini towers of spraying colors
red gold blue green
scheduled for tonight

leaving soon for
food family fun fair
until nightfall
when we all scatter to the winds
in various directions
for various fireworks displays
and other adventures
or simply home (as the old ones go)

we head back
to our little "illegals"
meeting up with the other
"regular law breakers"
in our neighborhood

4th of july
sun fun family friends and fireworks
and of course
just a smidgen of law breaking on the side

wouldn't be the 4th of july with um!
