"A close-up on screen can say all a song can." – Stephen Sondheim

You Are Invited
to "The Close-ups of Summer Art & Poetry Image-ination Jam"

When?
For the rest of the summer, 2008!
Starting Sunday June 29, 2008 3PM EST (12 noon PST)
until - Sunday, August 31, 2008 3PM EST (12 noon PST)

Where?
at Studio Eight dot TV
http://studioeight.tv/phpbb
You will find a new Image-ination Jam Session Forum
at the top of the page when you arrive for this event.

What is It?
This is a experimental collaborative internet event for visual artists,
photographers, poets who enjoy viewing the interpretations
of the same topics by others. This will be a creative art
and poetry collaboration!

How Will it Work?
We will have multiple "Close-ups of Summer" threads being posted
spontaneously & collaboratively. When you arrive to participate,
you will find a special new forum for this event at the top of the
page at Studio Eight. You can start a thread by posting a close-up
photo of someone or something that represents this summer to you.

Examples – These are just ideas.

1- A close-up photo of yourself on vacation falling off the boat.
2- A close-up photo of your spouse or children looking
jaw-dropped at the sky to see the summer stars.
3- A close-up photo of a beach ball or any object that reminds you of summer.
4- A close-up photo of the girl on the boardwalk on rollerblades.
5- A close-up photo of the street musician at that little cafe where you hung out.

Others will view your photo, get inspired and WRITE A POEM or
DRAW, PAINT, CARTOON, their representation of your image,
then save, scan or take a photo of their work and post their
artistic interpretations to the thread.

In response to the images others post, you, as the interpretive artist or poet,
can WRITE A POEM inspired by the photo or DRAW, PAINT, or CARTOON
your interpretation of the initial post and either take a photo of it or
scan it and post your rendition!

Who?
You who always knew it is better to partake than to abstain!
You who MUST be there 'cause you cannot refrain!
You who understand that together, we can create something better,
or at least unique, something we would never have thought of alone!

Why?
Because you are only limited by the endless possibilities
of your image-ination! Because you cannot afford to miss
being part of this creation!
Because, take my tip, it's going to be a trip!
Think of it as summer vacation!
Get a hold of your camera and GO!
Then bring it back here to show!

What?
Never been to an Image-ination Jam?
Word Jams and Image-ination Jams are series
of ongoing spontaneous collaborative artistic events
hosted by Studio Eight dot TV

This sounds like it could easily go all summer. Can't wait to post something...and see what happens. Or to respond to what's up--
