I think HST wasn't far from the truth about "the American dream," but there was no way that "Fear and Loathing" (in Vegas) was ever going to fully translate to the big screen. You had to read the book.

And now listening to my other favorite blast from the past song, "Ghost Town" by the Specials. THE song that first made me want to play bass guitar.

And I still like the message. At this point, all of this talk I've heard recently about another "civil war" is just that, just talk. Neighbors don't really talk to each other in that way. It's manufactured by unnecessarily tribal political factions. Wake up!

I always liked "Well, the conversation kind of dried up, ma'am ..." (in response to "You were only supposed to talk to him, why did you have to kill him? ..."), from The Undefeated.

I like John Wayne movies.
What they meant, not sure.

both versions of it.

The disturbing thing is, half the population of the former United States thinks this is exactly what needed to happen. I agree, lace up the boots, but not like that.

The middle part sums up life!

It is peak P-funk. It's unique in the Funkadelic catalog for sure (it would fit into a Parliament album, I think). Mainly I just like the message.

A familiar sort of moment. I'm having more of those kind of moments as I wander on my trail. Part of the interwoven fabric indeed.

I think that's reasonable.

I'm going to blast this jam at least once a week from my car and out my front door until we stop squabbling like 2-year-olds over fucking manufactured tribal politics.

Man, that is so cool. I hope I make it down to Key West before I shuffle off. Maybe check out Hemingway's place, if it hasn't been bulldozed yet.

As long as we remember one basic natural law, we'll survive this event: his truth is fabricated.

Btw, I ain't sayin' that other politicians haven't also had this sort of problem, nor am I implying that they've been saints, but FFS, LOSE THE IDEA THAT THIS DUDE IS SOME SORT OF MESSIAH.
