I'm kind of stunned by this news. Cecil and I had many long conversations, in person and by phone, going back awhile. We became friends after I first traveled to meet him and Soozen in 2004. The last time we spoke was when he called me in 2022 when I'd just come from a hiking trail. I will miss him.

Well, so much for more activity on LK. More than a month later, and nothing. Yes, I know it's his blog and he can use it (or not use it) as he sees fit. No argument there. Just kind of disappointed, that's all.

Undesirable earworms are unpredictable for me. Lately they tend to be ads repeating over and over and over, and god help me if their rhythms repeat in my head.

Why are you sorry? I just can't comprehend what's happening to this country, our self-destructive path. And I don't really know what to say. Nothing I say seems to register in the slightest with the (too many) people I cross paths with who still defend this s**t. It's pretty damn deeply disturbing.
