Yes, that seems right. I first ran across "dragoon" when I visited mountains called the Dragoon Mountains in southeastern Arizona. Where Cochise had his stronghold.

Re: Chapbook
So true. God I hate stuff like "in your court." Gotta retire soon and GTFO. Also, I need to look up the word "dragoon."

Btw, I like what some of his engineers have been able to accomplish too.

Deep Time Deep Space
The next time I'm angry,
I will try to think about
deep space. Deep time.
Rock time! All right here.
In the middle of infinitude.

Re: So do we want Government or not?
I guess now we have our answer-- as the "DOGE" Chainsaw massacres on: "No!" "We don't want the federal government!" "It's evil, bloated, corrupt, inefficient and too ' Marxist ' and basically needs to be shitcanned!" comes "our" angry reply and refrain. It needs to be GONE! ... (and replaced by more...

Re: I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Thanks Doreen. Looking back on S-8 writings from earlier years-- by myself and others-- inspires me. And I enjoy revisiting "Infinite Tide." This "north of south" thing comes straight from the early part of my "wandering years" when S-8 was launched. It also kind of reminds me of something I wrote t...

Re: The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
Yes! I see the eye.
As an aside, I try to imagine rock time, deep time (or deep space) when I get too full of myself. It's humbling.

Re: I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Just ignore me. I was looking at my S-8 "avatar" (which I haven't changed since I joined S-8) and noticed that "north of south" bit ...

Re: The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
That's the first time I've ever heard "automobile-sized pebbles." Cool. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of them around here (in the Pac-NW) among the glacial "drumlin" hills. I read John McPhee's "Basin and Range" when I wandered thru the desert years ago, and that book, despite its dry scientific...

I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Man, I'm everywhere. I mean, anywhere.
I'm north of south, south of north, east of west, west of east, left of right, right of left, below above, above below. Man, that's anywhere!

Re: The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
Yes ... I found geology a bit dull. They told me I should study and classify rock before I tried to write silly "poems" about it. But (in the desert in particular) I usually just marvel at its various shapes and colors, from black rock to red rock, explosion to erosion. It rarely moves for us in rea...

The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
Rock time. Billions of years. Meaningless, inhuman. It destroys entire mountains. No sir! Terrain must be ageless! Terrain is mountain rhythms in space. Rock time is mountain rhythms in time , about halfway across a universe. Imagine. Earth toys with Mountain. Plays cards with him for eons, until Mo...
