Re: dancing plagues and neo-nuttiness
Yes, the former United States. Well maybe there's some good to come outta all this (sponsored and manufactured) anger and warring among our "united" selves, all of this divide and conquer politicism at the expense of, well ... us.

Re: Pope Leo XIV
This may sound abrupt and harsh, but I have a hard time with Xtianity in general-- you gotta do this and that or else you're not "saved." What I CAN get behind are the words and deeds of Jesus as told in the N.T. As for the Catholic Church, its built-up power structure has invited abuse through the ...

Re: Chapbook
Yes, that seems right. I first ran across "dragoon" when I visited mountains called the Dragoon Mountains in southeastern Arizona. Where Cochise had his stronghold.

Re: Chapbook
So true. God I hate stuff like "in your court." Gotta retire soon and GTFO. Also, I need to look up the word "dragoon."

Re: So do we want Government or not?
I guess now we have our answer-- as the "DOGE" Chainsaw massacres on: "No!" "We don't want the federal government!" "It's evil, bloated, corrupt, inefficient and too ' Marxist ' and basically needs to be shitcanned!" comes "our" angry reply and refrain. It needs to be GONE! ... (and replaced by more...

Re: I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Thanks Doreen. Looking back on S-8 writings from earlier years-- by myself and others-- inspires me. And I enjoy revisiting "Infinite Tide." This "north of south" thing comes straight from the early part of my "wandering years" when S-8 was launched. It also kind of reminds me of something I wrote t...

Re: The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
Yes! I see the eye.
As an aside, I try to imagine rock time, deep time (or deep space) when I get too full of myself. It's humbling.

Re: I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Just ignore me. I was looking at my S-8 "avatar" (which I haven't changed since I joined S-8) and noticed that "north of south" bit ...

Re: The Meaninglessness of Rock Time
That's the first time I've ever heard "automobile-sized pebbles." Cool. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of them around here (in the Pac-NW) among the glacial "drumlin" hills. I read John McPhee's "Basin and Range" when I wandered thru the desert years ago, and that book, despite its dry scientific...

I'm Everywhere. I mean, Anywhere
Man, I'm everywhere. I mean, anywhere.
I'm north of south, south of north, east of west, west of east, left of right, right of left, below above, above below. Man, that's anywhere!
