I'm beyond bored with it. Trump (in his first term actually said: "The country is closed.") Do we agree? Maybe we do.

Re: Chapbook
Wow ... Phi sort of reminds me of Pi. As a (still employed) urban denizen myself, I have little chance to get deep into the woods-- but I do have a pretty cool 600 acre (mostly) forested park nearby to explore. I found a few narrow passageways between main trails a couple of years ago-- navigating o...

Re: Life Control VS Mind Control
Not sure why I posted this-- was it the internal vs external control aspect? Almost like I was taking down notes from a lecture. The episode I was watching was about a psych professor who trained his dogs to kill when they heard a certain word. Love the old Columbos. I have most of them on dvd.

Re: Jack, are you okay?
Thanks for checking in, Jack. Glad you avoided the floods. I'm beyond disgusted with the way "chainsaw" DOGE operated. I don't think anyone objects to trying to cut government waste (Clinton did it via a years-long careful audit), but the haphazard, slash-and-burn way DOGE went about it was mostly a...

I'm bored with this shit. It's not going to work. What a step backwards.

Who "deserves" to live here? I don't think the Gestapo approach will work (because a free society doesn't do that), but that approach seems to have a vague approval at this point (!) because the far right wants to get rid of "foreigners." (So America can be great again.)

Re: It's Not Really About Anything Anymore
Language has really been put through contortions in the last few decades, I'll say that.

Jack, are you okay?
I heard about the Texas floods. I'm not sure, but I think maybe you were pretty close to the Guadalupe River. I think the hardest hit was west of San Antonio, but I heard that places like New Braunfels were impacted too.

It's Not Really About Anything Anymore
It's not really about anything anymore.
It is about how big your political dick is.
That's what we've been reduced to.

I respect all of the literary giants and geniuses, but I confess that sometimes I wish they'd get to the point. And yes, that includes you Mark Twain.

Re: deep blue affection
She is definitely missed. Affection. And deep blue disappointment in this world of ours as well, growing more deeply rooted in me, unfortunately.
