Re: I Think We're All Pretty Good People

Yes, it's tragic. No words can adequately express my revulsion to that whole situation and its long, long ugly history. As for my comment, I meant would-be combatants. I remember one time, Dad said something like "What if they tried to start a war and nobody showed up?" It's almost a ridiculous noti...

Re: I Think We're All Pretty Good People

The thing about war,
you have to acknowledge
there is a war in the first place.
What if we just don't?

Re: I Think We're All Pretty Good People

I hear you, Doreen. We're swamped with religious and "cultural" dick-waving. We have open talk by "leaders" of nuclear warfare. So it wasn't just a nightmare I woke up from decades ago when what was left of my optimism for "us" peaked somewhere in the late nineties, like HST's wave, the one he wrote...

Re: I'm sure his grave is restless

The worst part is, we're doing it to ourselves.
We are buying the snake oil con.

Talk about an own goal in our elimination match in the Big Soccer Tournament of the Coming Apocalypse.

I keep wanting to tell myself it won't be, or couldn't be, as bad as I imagine it will get.

Re: bring on the spectacle

"Outrage porn."

Pretty much describes it. Well done.

Everything is porn. I knew it would come to this. We have everything and nothing (very Zen) in the explosion of tech and everything and nothing and I suspected it would come to this sooner or later or maybe later or sooner.

Re: Snow Moon Rising

Not sure why.
What's it matter?
Random greed,
brute power.
Tender folds.
Earth watches
the show.

Re: On a Personal Note

That old little Nissan took me all across the American desert southwest 20+ years ago during the difficult time of 9/11 and beyond, and it was amazing on narrow trails. At the time I just assumed they'd keep making trucks like that but I was wrong.

On a Personal Note

I have an old Nissan truck parked
across the street and another truck
newer, bigger and ten times as good
parked in front of my door.

The old Nissan is still my truck.

Re: the ballot

We don't like it, but we're getting it stuffed down our throats.

I still have faith, but it's a little thinner.

Re: My sister, Denise, has passed

I confirm, it's hard to lose a friend. I miss my mom so much. At times it seems we have so few friends, yet possibility is always out there.

Re: They have no power

Good question. Capitalism depends on expanding markets, which is a good business plan. (Jeez I wish I'd thought of that.) Meanwhile the earth doesn't get any bigger.
