I loved the way the bizarre miracles of red rocks are tucked into the flat endless desert only to appear almost magically upon arrival. I remember that road to Escalante vividly. my seriously acrophobic husband was driving when both sides of the road fell away, nowhere to pull over, not hardly wide ...
