heading to the bowery poetry club in nyc on dec 11 for 'Ode to the Sidewalks of NY' w/ David Amram and Zoe Artemis from 6-8 pm. should be a kickass time as long as the weather keeps the highways clean.

walk the line
anyone else see "walk the line"? thought it was good. decent performances, but superficial attempt at dramatizing the creative process. everything else worked for me. best opening scene i've seen in a LONG time. a big complaint i've seen is that it misrepresents cash's father and first wife - appare...

snot holds in all the good ideas and they build up for later. be careful when you blow, you might lose a good idea. best to take zicam, wild turkey, buffalo wings and lots of very cold water. keep the notebook handy. i dont advocate the use of illegal substances but i do recommend them. you know the...

had to take oxycodone recently and i didnt appreciate it much. it made me feel good for about 4 hrs, i'll admit. but sandwiched in there was about 25 minutes of a sudden feeling i was going to die. had to sit down, want to pass out, overheated. the best way i've found to deal with pain medication, a...

does taking responsibility mean that he's also accountable for appointing a horse club president as the head of the dept responsible for the security and safety of american citizens? bush is an idiot, a liar and a thief. the only way he can take responsibility is by letting someone else reappoint ev...

george saunders interview
george saunders was interviewed a bit ago, like last week or something, over at maud newton. it's a pretty good interview, if you ignore the self-indulgent cleverness of the interviewer, which i'll ask you to do. george saunders is a very capable short story writer who you might say is a combination...
