fantastic game. the US team has come so far since the switch to using professional players. i cant believe i was disappointed in the silver medal finish, but i was. :(

but i'm glad, in a way, that ryan miller was left slightly unfulfilled. he's still got a cup to win with the sabres!

it's some scary shit. here's an article/essay i wrote about it recently: http://firsty.newsvine.com/_news/2007/07/10/828921-the-fear-of-waking-up our brains paralyze our bodies when we dream so we dont act out our dreams — babies tend to twitch and kick more often because their chemistry isnt up to ...

chapter 2

When I have to take the bus to the PATH terminal I sometimes don’t wake up completely until I’m on the train rolling through the tunnel. Normally I’d be awake earlier but this morning I took the bus through Hoboken, straight down Washington Street and then around those short corners to the terminal....

i struggled with the first dramatic moments of this chapter, and a few days ago i cut much of the "bagel scene" because it just wasnt working like i had intended. i'm looking forward to your comments on it!

i'm posting chapter 2 shortly.

looks great!

i have one comment — the sidebar for the l'rod site (not the poets eye) is a little cluttered — i'd try to keep most of the sidebar contained to the length of about one page so the only "scrolling" required is to go thru the posts.

chapter 1

PART ONE: ATTACHMENT CHAPTER ONE The most important thing to remember is that I should not be writing this book. I know it, and now you know it, too. Whatever eventually follows this in print will have been set up by the admission that the author is entirely aware of the profoundly complicated mista...

great comments, doreen - thank you - dont get hung up on the wording of the intro — it's not put together in a meaningful way, i just wanted to give an idea about the approach.

this is fantastic! — i will try to post chapter 1 soon.

it's fictionalized — my "philosophy" of the book, however, was to deliver a fictional story around the true events as i remember them — what i happened to witness, etc — so the account of the day is what i'm describing as "accurate and emotionally authentic" — as nonfiction as it can be, in other wo...

Sean... well ok... but even if I disregard the first person, it sounds like you're saying that you (the author) were really there in NYC when 911 happened. Was that the case? I didn't think you were there. oh - yeah - sorry — yes, i was there. sorry — i thought it was common knowledge. i wrote a pi...

the influence of "catcher" has transcended literature — and it happened so quickly and so dramatically that the book basically skipped any serious literary influence until years later, when its influence had circled back as a little book that also happened to be an inescapable cultural reality. at l...

thanks so much! this is great feedback! doreen — no — i think i know what you're asking and the answer is no — disregard the 3rd-person wording of the "pitch" — i just grabbed it from a draft of a query letter i was working on. j — :D you rock. c — to answer your question — yes — i want you to want ...
