for/from Kailashana, a ghazal
From Kailashana: When you come, come empty-handed, my Beloved, return to me nothing but your presence. Nothing but your love. [/size] If you would come, Beloved, come to me with empty hands & give me nothing but your love. I need your presence more than tangibility, for what is safety?—nothing but ...

for the shattered air
As if a twig between— like shattered air— my fingers, dry and snapped— like something rare— the body of the morning woke my breath while angels, in their fired mosquitoes' buzz, would bleed-sing me their glory— there I was: for puja, yawn— and groan for shibboleth. But in that shattered air I recogn...

............he had already become the man he loved to write about.
called fiction his biography—
the author but smiled:
he'd fathered a child,
his truest self, in poetry.

You kept his books on the shelf next to those of Burroughs and Joyce. You kept his books by poetry and prose that those who'd read you nighttime stories had supposed would bring you better dreams; you chose to read the words that made you glad— kept company with ghosts when Galahad abandoned you fo...

Signed and sent, my clement letters
didn't moved supposed "betters"...
yet still, of course,
on him thought "worse"
I it was who tied death's fetters.

Ad Studium VIII Per Amor
A line of mourning doves and songbirds sat
across a narrow, rubbered powerline
that may have been my lifeline when I flat-
lined and I called for you and you were mine.

" Your eyes weren't open when the world awoke today— too early for a sabbath rest, too late to start a new creation ," spoke a voice in whispers, trying to digest this night that passed without you in it for the first of many standard ended days. " You surname won't be guilty anymore because you sim...

Re: CRY FOR LOVE
I love it, Cher...but one word drives me nuts (not a bad thing at all, but I struggle with it) and I've been pouring over it in my thoughts. Please know this is with utter respect and admiration. But you're so dang sophisticated ! How could that ever have not been the case!?!? :) It's hard for me to...
Re: Possessed
I'm perfect as a master miracle of art; and never have I sinned, but I am whole. The words of hurt I speak penultimate to Love are sighs of Satan's wind, but I am whole. I've neither been your victor of the good nor vector of your smile; I'm indiscreet with hate. If ever you've been loved by me, you...

Re: Her Prayerful Breath.
I am not afraid of death and I'm not put-out by (appropriately) dying people and I have watched more folks breath out than I can count at this point...and I'm not that old...but I hate the broken love. I hate the mistakes. I hate the distractions I know will haunt me.
But I love the poetry.
