....in a bush by the garden wall sits a brace of plump cardinals as the sun finds its way through the tangle of trees she is clad in a cloak of shades of the earth, of the forest made subtle browns, and russets and rusts make her raiment while her mate, in his fierce attire wears a coat wove of molt...

Venus is over-rated anyhow. Diana's ever-helpful in the hunt for what's next.

I can't stand the whole business of forgetting, but I like this poem and the truths it holds.

that was a fun take on Foote and the 'War Against Northern Aggression'. I visited Gettysburg last summer, spent time on both ends of Pickett's Charge, thinking, wondering, on the lookout for old ghosts moving up the line. Foote seemed very much the soft-spoken, intelligent southern gentleman. Someon...

I have no need to spend the time creating vivid images or effective metaphors. There's no purpose to them, and though at one time I thought they had lives ...

I like the dark, lush greens - my eyes are starved for verdant hues during the winter. Do you work from a photograph?

each is cool and interesting in their own right, but I really liked seeing all three together in a photo. I love the color elements of the vase, and the flowers seem to encircle each painting in an embrace.

looking forward to further 'still table' works!
