Re: god

and peace to you pastor joel. this was good. i'm glad that you did reply. ps. there is beauty in that there is a little bit of god in each of us. i have come to believe that if (or when) i can find compassion in myself to see past the fears and the reputations and really see someone, flaws and heart...

Re: I'm so sorry

i'm sighing a huge sigh of relief here miss dorie. so glad that it's not the big C. although i've seen people heal 100% (like my mother did. she's been cancer free for over ten years now), it's the kind of illness that places dread in the hearts of everyone. so yes, i'm relieved. this is me, smiling...

Re: god

sonofthesun ...this is one of the reasons why i love poetry forums. it brings together people from all over to share thoughts and find a gift therein. joel ... you have quoted two things i said in this conversation. i will adress it...not in defense. (i don't mind being quoted.) but in the interest...

Re: Disconnected

you didn't say anything that i found sarcastic, jack. it was just a generalization. the "how do you know god is a he, because your bible tells you so?" is a valid question that a lot of people have asked before. i guess a lot of people, even when they realize there's no human traits (like gender or ...

Re: Poet Speaks Out! Interview with Doug Knox /wylde / wyld

knowing wylde's poetry from two other forums we've both been on, this was an interesting read. he certainly was a kind of involuntary mentor and inspiration to me back then. thanks judih.

Re: Disconnected

i apologize if you think the sarcasm comment was directed at you, jack. it was not directed at any specific person. i think a lot of people that get "lost" in their faith get sarcastic and/or fall into self pity at some point. it's natural but it would be sad to get stuck there. i'm also not advocat...

Re: Disconnected

i guess it all boils down to choice. when life gets hard, you can choose to loose yourself in self pity or sarcasm against a god you don't understand or you can pick yourself up and look for something that makes more sense. this is not me picking a fight with anyone. (we are all entitled to our own ...

Re: Disconnected

i think we all struggle with this question at some point in our lives. here's what i've learned so far it's not that god has left us. it's that most people expect that if they worship and fear him, he will protect them. it's that most people expect god to stop the hurt and then doesn't. most of us a...

Re: god

we all struggle with god and faith. i think it's good to share our views and experiences and understand that we don't have to be perfect (or perfect in our faith).

Re: make- a- speech

party of poets? whoa. they might call us "too romantic". haha ever saw the movie "lost in translation"? you can literally feel the 2 main characters feeling lost and confused, being in a foreign country where they didn't understand the language or the culture and on top of that their own empty perso...

Re: The Trouble With Flowers

flowers have the ultimate say in beauty. but then there is even more beauty in the "flaws" of the human face...like crows feet and freckles and crooked teeth. we fret about time doing its damage, but we just don't understand how to appreciate & embrace beauty like flowers do.
