Real life? What's that?

Oh, is that like where people call you to go places and you make up excuses like "I'm being chased by wolves!" and hang up the phone?

The internet is still compelling. In all these 8 years, the internet has never let me down. It never fails to inform and surprise. It could be that I just have a knack for finding all the right places, but they're still there.

I didn't think you were being critical. My post was directed at everyone who reads the thread. Just a report based on my observation & experience

As far as the death penalty, the fact is, this is a predatory universe. Now, as allegedly "civilised" humans, we are supposed to agree on rules as far as predating on other humans. Based on the early Western ideals of Natural Rights, the rule would be that it's Never okay to predate on other humans....

When has most of everything not sucked?

As they say, 90% of everything is crap.

And as far as music, my own experience and observation shows that 90% of everything really is crap, and it merely *seems* otherwise to someone when they're young and the music is new.

I know a lot of people who cut themselves, whereas I only know one person who did it as an attempt at suicide. All the others had no intent towards injury. For some of them, it was a recourse to feeling, to feel the pain just to feel something. For some, it was an act of power. For some, it w...

This isn't really connected, but whenever someone mentions the soldiers in Iraq, I think of a specific person. We'll call him Jerry. Jerry came to my highschool during my junior year (about 4 years ago, I think). He was of average height, had a muscular build, extremely short hair, and a large head....

Huh... I can't say I understand what you mean about the end. I loved the last part of the book. Although I have to admit I have an unusual view on this sort of thing: to me, even the merest concept of exposition-risingaction-climax-denouement is a contrivance. The mechanical "tricks" of the book I f...

I can't recall the exact book chapter verse, but it says something to the effect that Jesus and his apostles were "in one Accord"

I've been reading Richard Holmes' biography of Coleridge. It features lots and lots of excerpts from his letters. I think you'd enjoy reading them. (oddly enough, as I'm reading this biography, I keep being reminded of Jack Kerouac -- did you know that Coleridge liked to go on rucksack hiking trips ...

The best part about the Martian Girl is that she's from Planet P. Or Planet V. Depending on which version you're listening to.

(that's right, everyone: "Martian Girl from Planet P")

in the meat department..."
