In Memory
I may have posted this song before, but, in memory of Lightning Rod, I'm reposting it (or, possibly, posting it for the first time). It's called "If It Was Blue". I end the song with a fairly long semi classical guitar riff, but it was LR, flautist extrodinaire, who really makes the song, IMHO. If I...

False Equivalency? I Think Not
(originally published at OpEdNews ) [/i] I’m sixty-two years old and was raised in a family of bigots. I have a sister. So, it didn’t take long before I first heard the statement, “If she ever brings home a (fill in the pejorative - based, of course, on color of skin and/or ethnicity), I’ll kill hi...

Re: Commenting on the work of others
Yep, even the quick reply is centered for me. Is there some control here at Studio 8 that I'm not aware of?

Re: Commenting on the work of others
OK, here's the quick reply. I'll see if this, too, is centered.

Re: Commenting on the work of others
Are you saying that I'm the only person who's seeing everything centered? Everything I look at at Studio8 is centered. I see a "center" tool to the right of the "font colour" tool, but I've not clicked on it. Everything that is written at Studio8 is centered. Even the FAQs. I'd say it was a setting ...

Re: Shooting Blanks -- Erik Sitbon and Chris George Song
First, one has to compliment the group on the harmonies and the guitar work. I enjoyed them immensely. Unfortunately, I had a real hard time getting enough of the lyrics to be able to comment on them. Maybe my old ears can't pick up lyrics in songs as well as they used to. Of course, if you posted t...

Re: Commenting on the work of others
I appreciate everybody's input concerning the feedback portion of my question. j., I'll take your advice and let the chips fall where they may. Ron, I appreciate your extended and in depth explanation of what different sites accept. I started with Arcanum Café and, when people from AC broke off to s...

Re: the end is our beginning
I don't know if the last two words of this piece, "all ways", was meant to be word play. However, if anyone asks you if it is, say, "Yes" because it's very clever as it can carry at least two different meanings. The imagery here is vivid which makes this piece quite the turn on! I couldn’t agree more. When I meditate, I can actually feel energy emitting from the tips of my fingers. There’s a transcendent feeling that the energy is in (physical) touch with whatever it is my eyes see. I know that I’m connected to the universe - to all of you - and, as this poem more than impl...

I'm truly not complaining, j. I just wondered, if I comment without "jamming", would the author be insulted or whatever. I'm just sayin', you know?

Re: Commenting on the work of others
In comparison to me, the rest of you are prolific in commenting on the writing of others. I appear narcissistic, selfish and any other synonym for narcissistic of which anyone can think. I received a “Studio 8 is missing you” email, which brings me back, yet, again, already. I owe it do Doreen to ma...

Re: Reality
Steve, You’ve touched my heart. My eyes are slightly leaking, I’ll cop to that. First, as I mentioned, I’ve been studying Spanish for about five years on my own. I’ve purchased Rosetta Stone, which is a wonderful program. I’m not even sure if I got what I wanted to say correct. I’m glad your daughte...

Re: Reality

I know some of you have already seen this, so, for you, nothing to see here. I have to get some things off my chest. Some are personal, some, maybe not so much. I’m going to post this to a few other places, so it’s going to be a form letter of sorts. I’ve thought about this a lot, but I am typing th...

And, just think, there wasn't one part that you thought I should remark. Exellent.
