George Carlin on Saving the Planet

The Planet is fine. Four billion years of rock. The rock has survived ice ages, eruptions, asteroid strikes, spinning in a black space desert, its species dancing to extinction. The rock outlasts surface rashes, sheds redundancies like dog hair. If plastic is the insidious big threat, killing oceans...

Re: Fading to Gray

Reminds me of the "fade to gray" I sometimes marvel at-- that twilight-dusk time when the world is shrouded in an ashen sort of shade that can't really be described or painted.

Re: I Remember When a Car Was Just a Car and a Truck Was Just a Truck

Exactly! I traveled the world in a stout little pickup that I picked up for 8 grand almost new! Love that truck. I read about the new Tacoma, coming out soon. Looks like a freakin' spaceship, bulky, waaay overstyled, its bulging skin overstuffed with tech and a zillion gadgets. No price yet, but the...

Re: I Remember When a Car Was Just a Car and a Truck Was Just a Truck

I understand if rich folk
want to buy this truck
for "pocket change,"
but holy crap.

How Much Did You Pay For That Truck?

Man, if I was asked to
spend 55 to 80 thousand
on a vehicle, I'd seriously
consider living in it.

The first time I saw the Black Rock Desert was like that for me. The sublime vastitude. Enjoyed the story. Thanks.

The human race has invented some astoundingly amazing things, and the information, the information! It's everywhere, overflowing! But no one has been able to come up with a bullshit detector... ever so elusive...

If you lose an election,
just say you didn't.
And keep saying it.
Simple enough.

Re: Everything Got Too Corporate

Just some insomniac mindwaves hitting me ... Yeah I'd say 1983 is when it turned. About 2 years into Reagan's Corporate Whoreout. Somewhere in that time frame. The "digital revolution" was underway too-- a new shiny digital glaze starting to wash over us. Ultimately, its goal was to lock up our life...

Everything Got Too Corporate

Everything got too corporate. Too monetized. Too ... too ... well, incorrectly pigeonholed as well? Just ... off. Take a band like the Police. They suddenly imploded. If anyone thinks of them at all, it's maybe just for Sting and that godawful Synchronicity bullshit they put out in '83, you know, wi...

Drugz Is The Main War

Drugz of choice,
Drugz no choice.
Drugz of religion.
Drugz of politicians
on their own dope.

The long con.
Lid's about to blow.
Hyperventilation.
Disintegration.
Drugminds.
Drug soul.

Drugz bad.
Drugz bad.
Just say
No.
