Re: Bourbon Street Lady
creativesoul, love hearing about Nawlins back then. Red beans and rice and root beer on a shoestring sound heavenly. But being fed by the restaurant where you work makes it even sweeter. If only I'd been oid enough back then that sounds like the way of life I'd have chosen. Great memories.

Re: Night of the Dead
Thank you so much for sharing that Sasha. My true love has also passed on. I too wonder if she and I will reunite at some point in the space-time continuum. I certainly hope so. Your memory here is beautifully worded and put into a mood of what could have been. I love how you express your feelings i...

Night of the Dead
Night of the Dead The night of the dead seduces me as I walk past the fish market. The smell of cooking swordfish is sweet as I walk between the stalls gazing at a beefy man with a crimson scar running like a snake down his cheek. I stop and ask him how much his fish is. “Twenty pesos,” he says. I r...

Re: Bourbon Street Lady
I just love knowing that my writing brought you back to such a great time in your life. Thank you for sharing your memory here. New Orleans is a whole other world than the rest of the country and it is good to know that Mardi Gras brought you joy at that time in your life.

Re: Denver 1984 by Cloak of Night
Thanks for sharing the story which never got written. Indeed, you were wise not to bring that tale to fruition. The woman in this tale is a facebook friend of mine now. I was head over heels in love with her even after moving from her town to a Catholic boarding school. Those nights at the skating r...

Denver 1984 by Cloak of Night
Denver by Cloak of Night 1984 When I check my mail in the lobby there is a note from a woman with whom I spent nights at the skating rink in my fairy tale past. I knew she was here in Denver but had tried to hide from her to protect my newfound monasticism. But the slip of paper says, “You bastard, ...

Re: Saturday, June 13, 1999: Oh, What a Night...!
Your prose was crystal clear and filled with innuendo of an emotionally fraught nature. The delicacy with which you wrote your entanglements with these people and especially Kathy made for heady reading. Most of all I felt what you went through because I too am lost in large social gatherings. One o...

His love for you made him come to you in a form which was how you needed to remember him. My former wife visits me in the peak of health as she was during our travels. So do my grandparents. Though I never had them enter my dreams in a wheelchair. Glad you stood up to your father and he cooperated. ...

Re: Midnight at the Voodoo Lounge
Sasha, love that my surreal prose resonated with your dream of your Dad. Your analysis of my story unveils the underlying structure beautifully. This is one of a series of dreamlike stories I've written during the past year. I didn't actually dream this but it was kind of a waking dream which I put ...

Midnight at the Voodoo Lounge When fall comes, it feels the time to make a cool change. Rosa’s ladder out of this tar pit is to get a bartending license.
