visually appealing...like a jazzed eye chart....
metaphorically, it could represent the racial tensions that still exist to some degree today, the red...bloodshed
in either case, it works.....

hey mnaz...I've picked myself up from that rippled cosmic gutter numerous times....this is great....a friend sent me a cartoon from the New Yorker the other day, titled Hecklers at a Poetry Reading.... and one audience member is yelling up to the poet on stage, "Hey, you call that a metaphor ?"........
