Sovereign Citizens

I'm a little unhappy with this group, particularly this reference in the article...

The FBI associated the letter with "sovereign citizens," most of whom believe they are free from all duties of a U.S. citizen, like paying taxes or needing a government license to drive. A small number of these people are armed and resort to violence, according to the intelligence report.

The reason I'm disconcerted is because of something I wrote back in 1997, titled The Declaration of Interdependence.

In that document I wrote,

We, therefore, mutually pledge to think of ourselves, henceforth, as Free Human Beings, citizens of Earth, third planet from Sol, our sun, first and foremost, before any other geographically defined citizenship, free human citizens primarily aligned physically, psychologically and spiritually with the planetary body as a whole, only secondarily bound to any observance of lesser political bonds, boundaries or identifications. That we, as individual citizens of Earth exist in Free and Independent States and are free to act as such, and are free to assume all the Rights of Free and Independent States,

I now and when I wrote this in no way meant the kind of thing implied in the above quote from the FBI intelligence note, and I wish to in no way be connected with this, these or any other groups advocating violence, refusing to pay taxes, or otherwise eschewing the necessities of reasonable authority in securing the benefits of liberty for all.
Not that I think these "sovereign citizens" groups might have read my puny, obscure little paper, but that I don't want any part in or connection to their game plan.

Thanks for clarifying that, Barry.

IMHO our inner-freedom outweighs the illusion of our social freedoms which are understandably limited to retain our civility. Those who refuse those constraints in order to live amiably amongst the citizenry are deemed a danger for a reason.

I would no tlike to see my words twisted around like that either. If you will pardon the tangential reply you got me thinking about Athenian decmocracy, they were so zealous at protecting their rights as equal citizens they would not give one citizen police power over another. They were all sovereign citizens. So therefore the cops were all slaves. Go figure.
