Concerning a Compass

Post by the mingo » May 23rd, 2011, 10:38 am

I just discovered that in the great state of Yew Nork, as felonies go, possession of child pornography ranks lower in the eyes of the law than the possession of marijuana.

Things like this do not speak well for evolution. Or revolution for that matter. Or kings or queens or government in any form or business-as-usual or DNA or even We The People.

The most frightening thing is no one appears too upset over this, much less angry.

On our movie screens at the moment there is a cartoon character by the name of Captain Jack Sparrow. Captain Sparrow has a compass on his person which he actually consults from time to time.

The people in the audience, apparently, have none.

And my favorite J. Cricket.
It's the craziest thing that peoples forget the importance of their contents of their pockets, their watches, those important compasses and their crickets.
Makes me mad.

What is the meaning of their persona without it.

Doll, things in pockets, that led me out and down some strange and wild paths when I read your post earlier today. And everywhere I looked there were things in pockets. And I discovered there are many revelations to be had among the pockets of this world.

HaHa mingo, to me too.
I didn't know we'd turn over (or out with it) that pocket.

"My compass...is unique."
"Unique here having the meaning of broken?"
"True enough, this compass does not point north."
"...Where does it point?"
"It points to the thing you want most in this world."
