Dave I feel sickened when I think of what HST did to himself the manner of it, he was not a compassionate man.
Dave I am sorry, but there is a saying that all things work to the good for those that love.
I am not suicidal, other than smoking and a occassional tootsie pop, but I remember experimenting while I was eight in closet being punnished, feeling unloved a belt a coat hook and leaning for ward, I was a weird kid had a weird curiostiy just wanted to feel what it felt like.
Lescaret had a couple good lines on what we should do today, pick up a pen a brush, type, make music, make love, celebrate life.

i like colours on my walls, and pictures.
i also like painted floors... cork tiles, pained and with ornaments/symbols on some of them.
i have poetry on the toilet wall and shells glued to my monitor.
there are frames on my wall that sometimes are empty, and sometimes frame something like a picture, a poem, a leave or an idea.
light is important.
sunlight during the day, a light chain and candles during the twilight hours, several soft light lamps (like an old globe; an orange bottle-shaped rice paper lamp; a green amorphe glass creation; a frame with a glacier photo illuminated from behind) when it's dark.
...stuff like that.
yes, creating my place is important to me!

clay,
a suggestion to avoid this ugly look:
do it like this!

looks neat, no?
as for the art of snow - yes... around here as well. all's covered in clear and pristine white....

(my daughter and a friend of ours on snow shoes last sunday)

One of these days I will have a building all my own to live in, my wizard's atelier, and spend my days studying, creating, unlocking the secrets of the universe. The walls of one room will become a novel. Another will be the Whale Room, the walls covered in paintings of whales. A concrete basement dungeon, complete with old chains and shackles for atmosphere, where I will record my strange and loud music; the pretty, light stuff will be recorded outside in the garden. I will build bookshelves with no right angles or parallel lines.
But right now I just have a little apartment, so I just hang my paintings via push-pins all over the walls.

I have a few poems and lyrics, film quotes printed out and stuck to my walls but not written directly onto them. I have shitty textured wallpaper which I can't be bothered to remove.
I put lots of my photographs on the walls. I've created a little photo gallery around my desk. books on the shelf are nice decoration.
Panta. I love your photos. Is that a real plant growing across your wall? I love it. And, nice spider plant too. Spider plants are the best plant, man. sort of like a dog in plant form. A comforter plant. do you stroke your plant like I do mine? (no innuendos intended)
I don't really have much of an opinion on interior decoration. My only thing is that too clean and bright is a bad thing. wooden floors are good if they're dark (i detest laminate flooring) leather looks nice but give me a fabric couch any day.
Red wine stains and vomit.

thanks, veronica... and mars, your future place sounds like a place i'd like.
bennie, yes, that's a real plant across the wall, but i only stroke my plants when they need a little dusting (but sometimes i can be found talking to them... "eh, you - get your fuckin' fingers out of my way!")!
best thing about them is that they are patient while waiting for their drinks.
