Online BOOK? - a new forum?
What do you all think of a new forum which would be a read-only online book?
This means, that people could post their poetry or stories or whatever we determine the content to be, but there would be no replies at all. Just the works, no conversation.
I could set it up as one long thread, or as individual posts, but without replies. I'm not sure which one would work better.
What do you think? Would this be something you'd be interested in participating in by adding your writings to it?
If people want to reply to your pieces, they could send you a private message.
I like the idea. But are you interested?
We could give it a cool name... haven't thought of one yet.
.......
Thanking Mingo for the idea. He asked me if I'd ever seen a site like that before and I said no and thought it might be a good idea to try it here. I guess e-zines are sort of like that, but they have editors who choose the material. This would be all of you choosing your own material to add to the online book.

213 views and only 3 people say they're interested. Hah! Ahh well. I'll keep this up for a while to see if we get more interest. And if not? Maybe I'll follow judih's advice... build it and they will come.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

Forum Nine
why not a magazine
bi-yearly
or monthly
or bi monthly
...
and on line
in the context of selling
or relating a relative cost
of downloading
or joining fee
to read ?

Re: Online BOOK? - a new forum?
why not an editorial board
from the content of s8 postings?
easily mashed together
as an e - zine
and why not charge
for downloading
or access fee ?
...
you could close the representations
of s8
for membership only viewing
and participation
sounds overly corporate
and wonderfully irrational

Re: Online BOOK? - a new forum?
Thanks for your input, sweetwater.... but no, I don't want to charge anything. I hate sites that charge money. We have a donation link if people want to help with the costs. That's enough. I also don't want to install any new software for an ezine. I don't have the tech skills or the time. The idea was to create a read-only no-replies additional forum are on this site. I just have to figure out how to set it up. I might message Neologistic (James), our tech guy, for his feedback on the best way to set it up.

I decided not to do this. We already have plenty of forums.
