When Your Gorgeous Friend is In A Band(help me here, ladies)

In the summer of 2003, I was a member of this youth film workshop called "Community Film Worshop of Chicago" which taught SFX, editing, filming, aesthetics, operation of a camera etc to interested parties aged 18 to 28. My friend Quinn was a member and convinced me to join, and I ended up working on a hip-hop documentary (co-directing, producing and writing it) with her. We developed this survey of about 7 questions involving hip-hop, it's culture, it's art and it's style to ask. In the process of performing this survey, I met this guy: (the one on the far right whose leaning over) who preceded to rock my world both musically and otherwise. The bassist for chicago-based Indie-funk band "Punsapaya" (http://www.punsapaya.net/) he was funny, sweet, talented, and cute, in both the "ahh, pinch your cheeks" way and the "mmm, violently disrobe you" way. We assed around for awhile went out, and kissed, then I took off for LA for a coupla weeks, and when I came back, he had disappeared. I lost my phone and plus, stupid Verizon had cut my service anyway, so I therefore did not have a number at which to reah him, nor did he for me. Recently, I caught up with him at the end of a show he played at this small club in Chicago. We talked for awhile. HE invited me out. But it's been so long. A year at least. We haven't spoken, we haven't seen each other, and the main underlying thought in my mind, he probably has a girlfriend. I don't wanna go out with him just to be told an inevitable truth that will doom me mentally, and subsequently make me miserable, but I don't wanna turn him down b/c if he doesn't have a girlfriend, then I wanna date him!!! I'm am truly fucked here, poeple.
