Alex Pretti — Say his name!

Post by Doreen Peri » January 25th, 2026, 3:03 pm

I’m in tears. I cannot … I just can’t accept what’s happening in our country. Ohhh that poor man!! My heart goes out to him! My heart goes out to his family! 💔💔
"I’ve watched all of the videos dozens of times - here’s what happened.

A 37-year-old ICU nurse named Alex Pretti helped a woman that federal agents had shoved. For this crime - helping someone - several agents sprayed pepper spray into his face - then they beat him until he collapsed. They pistol whipped him while he was on his knees. Both hands on the ground. Not resisting. Just existing.

They took his gun from his back waistband - he never touched it - but he had a legal permit to carry. The Second Amendment one. The constitutional right one.

And then they shot him.

After he was already down, already gone, they shot him nine more times. Nine. I want you to picture that. A man on the ground, motionless, and nine more bullets.

This is the same government that told us he was a “criminal illegal alien with a string of violent offenses.” He was an American citizen. He was a nurse who worked in the ICU at the VA - the guy who takes care of your grandfather who served in Vietnam, your uncle who came back from Iraq. His criminal record was traffic tickets.

They lied. They executed him in broad daylight on an American street. And then they lied about who he was to make you feel okay about it.

This is the third shooting by federal agents in Minneapolis in three weeks. Three weeks. Three people. One was a woman named Renée Good. One was a Venezuelan man shot in the leg. And now Alex Pretti, American citizen, legal gun owner, VA nurse who spent his days caring for veterans, dead on the pavement at 26th and Nicollet because he tried to help someone.

The same government that wraps itself in “support our troops” shot the guy who actually supported our troops. Nine times. While he was on the ground.

That’s the truth - don’t believe any of the Trump Admin’s lies about what happened." From Rachel Hurley

Why are you sorry? I just can't comprehend what's happening to this country, our self-destructive path. And I don't really know what to say. Nothing I say seems to register in the slightest with the (too many) people I cross paths with who still defend this s**t. It's pretty damn deeply disturbing.

I’m always sorry. lol. I’m sorry that everywhere we look we’re bombarded with the truth of whatever is happening in this country and the world. It’s overwhelming.

I’m sorry there are murderers
I’m sorry they executed this good man
I’m sorry there’s an evil presence in our government
I’m sorry I see the evil in many of them
I’m sorry I used the word evil which I don’t think I ever have until recently
I’m sorry if the word evil sounds religious, it’s really not
I’m sorry I can’t think of a better word for it
I’m sorry the world is so ugly while it’s also so beautiful
I’m sorry this man has love all over his face and in his eyes
I’m sorry I can’t help but cry every day
I’m sorry if that makes me appear weak
I’m sorry I don’t know how to save the world
I’m sorry I have too many words for saying nothing much

This is a dark time in our history as a nation, and I knew this shit was coming. Further thoughts to come. Or maybe not if they decide to track me down and take away my voice.

Jesus, these people in charge now have not one fucking clue about what this place was about in the first place, but maybe it was always that way.
