Narcissism (i love myself)

Post by Marksman45 » December 7th, 2005, 10:54 pm

I love myself. I think I'm absolutely great. In fact, sometimes when I look at myself, I can't believe how awesome I am.

People sometimes say that I'm "full of myself."
Well, honestly, what <i>else</i> should I be full of rather than myself?

I don't see where it's a bad thing at all.
In fact, I think it's a good thing.
Everyone should love themselves as much as I love myself.
It's a heck of a lot more fun than hating yourself. I've found it more useful, too. Yes, there was a time when I didn't like myself, but I've long since left that behind. I didn't like who I was, so I made myself into something that I <i>did</i> like. Some might accuse me of not "being myself," but that's not true. Rather than acting like someone else, I changed what "myself" was.

Some people seem to believe in "being yourself" even if you don't like yourself. What's the point in that? Why be miserable?
It's your own choice, to be miserable or to be full of glee.
Our choices determine our happiness.
We must choose happiness if we want to be happy.

Not chase, but <i>choose</i>.

That's what I think.

And I'm so awesome that if anyone disagrees with me, well, then they obviously don't know what they're talking about :)

mars,

I think you should be full of yourself too. I didn't think it was a bit strange when Ali said that he was the prettiest boxer in the world, the Greatest.

If you don't think that you are great, how can you be great?

go for it, you conceited muthafucka

I understand where you're at with that, Mars... but as I've heard you can't fully complete this love until you can kiss your own ass. How's that going?

This is GREAT! YOU are great! I love you, too!

AND... guess what? I love myself, too! And you're absolutely right!
I love myself so much that when my man isn't available, I make love to myself and not only that, sometimes, I love him as much as I love me or more, even, which is a good thing, too! There is plenty of love to go around but hell, ya gotta give yourself some of it first!

My philosophy is it's the people who don't love themselves who have a problem. Not the people who love themselves. Oh, but then there are the people who love themselves too much and talk about it so much that it makes you sick on your stomach because you know they aren't all THAT great but THEY think they are and they make you know it.

But I'm not talking about you. Nope. You love yourself just right. And I love myself just right, too. Lord knows, it sure is better than hating yourself. There's way too much self degradation in the world. Love is a four letter word and I think you should give it to you.

This piece begs to be recorded. It's arrogant and sassy and the world needs to hear it so people can realize that it is OK to love yourself like you love yourself but it might not be OK to love yourself as much as Lightning Rod loves himself. ;) lol

He wanted someone as beautiful as he was handsome. Heart broken maidens were nothing to him.
There is a down side, poor Echo, Narcissus gets all the ink.

This is what I mean, TJ, when I contend that there's a little spindle of industrial strength genius in some of the things you write:

" . . .poor Echo, Narcissus gets all the ink."

As for me, I suffer the same thing that plagued Dr. Jekyll--

When it gets dark, especially:

"Somehow I feel that I'm not entirely myself tonight . . ."

December 8, I would have much rather have been born today. He would have been 65 today.

Thanks for the kind words professor.
I look in the mirror and I see Jack The Ripper, Ted Bundy, Tom Delay, George W Bush, I see soldiers raping women in Darfur. I remember somedoy talking about the ability to hold two opposing ideas in consciousness with out annoying system errors and blue screens.

Sometimes I see a nice guy in the mirror, he looks pretty good for an old man. He wouldn't hurt a fly. He is full of good intentions.
I want a mirror mounted above my death bed, so I can get one more fond look at myself, before I kiss my ass
good bye

It is all good when you write about it.

Sorry marksman I am getting off your subject. Hey how come you only have one pole when I got two?

At last count, I have four poles.

We must choose happiness if we want to be happy.

Not chase, but choose.
Sounds unamerican Mark, we are required by law to pursue happiness.

Yes you are right of course, we must choose to be happy.

Speaking for myself I am my own worst enemy, I create my own unhappiness. But the older I get the happier I seem to get. But that just might me senility.

Evey time I see your avatar, I think of jamelah's search for the boy with the beautiful hands. I hope she is well I sent her a birthday email last year but not this year because I thought it might be one too many.

My hands may look beautiful in my avatar, but when they start moving they can get kinda disturbing. For instance, when I pull either of my middle fingers inward to my palm, you can see a tendon slide off the knuckle, and then back up when I release the finger. The tendon also visibly displaces a vein or two. Isn't that neat?
It prompted my fantastic friend Katie to say that I was horrifying. But then she's also compared me to a delicate flower.

Which is what I aspire to, basically. To be horrifying from one viewpoint, and a delicate flower from another.

You just don't give me no hard luck stories, you have had good life beautiful brother.

My hands are covered with scars, the skin is getting like parchment, I don't have a problem with that.

Later addition
I am ....you are .....they ......we are perfect buddhas
some are more perfect than others, but I throw that Buddha word around Like I have a grip on him, which I don't. But Maybe I will one day.
