Cultural void

Post by Artguy » January 7th, 2006, 11:34 am

AAAK!! I can't believe the cultural void i live in....2 days ago one the most published and influentual poets in Canadian history died,(Irving Layton)...and this weekend out of the 2 largest newspapers in the country, The Globe & Mail, and the National Post....the only mention was in the Globe & Mail which published a short poem by Leonard Cohen as an obit...we here in Canada do not celebrate the lives of our true national heroes...just the idiot politicians...

so much going on
and yet so little talked about

no matter if art doesn't make media money
it makes people look within
it breeds revolutions
and the press people don't want it
so what?

just be here
and now

:)
