Eugene - I am not confused or frustrated. I know what moot means. I don't need a dictionary to look it up. If you're saying the question is moot because it is debatable & subject to interpretation, that doesn't make much sense. That does not make it moot. The whole point of the thread is to talk about it, express opinions about it, debate it, interpret it. It's a philosophical discussion. I AM chilled, thank you very much. If you don't want to play, you don't have to. But the question is not moot just because you don't want to play and/or just because there is no wrong answer. :D

Sorry I mentioned you using the example of Paris Hilton. It appears you were probably referencing Lightning Rod's misinterpretation of the original question when he referred to her. It's definitely erroneous to refer to use her as an example of someone who is physically fit.

truckin - sorry my use of the word "challenged" threw you.

'truckin - eugeneherman is no other than Butch, the very talented saxophone player who kindly joined us to perform in our last Cabaradio show. He stayed in my spare bedroom for a week and we rehearsed and performed and hung out outside on the deck discussing philosophical questions 'til the wee hours of the morning...... Or else we were just partying. One of the two. :D

Welcome, Eugene, to the world of cyberspace! Watch out! It can be stranger than life itself sometimes. :) We're very glad you joined us!

flute question

Post by eugeneherman » June 10th, 2007, 9:58 pm

Well now, with quite a number of readers , and very few votes in the poll, it appears that the original question posed must be a FLUTE question cuz nobody seens to be playin'. Hey now, i'm just playin'!

Any friend of yours and clay is a friend of mine. You know more about that Zen stuff than I do. Is a koan a moot question?

Maybe we will all meet up some day. Maybe next year in Jeruselam, or Mule Shoe Texas. and ten four It was a challenging questions.

When I was growing up my grandmother was in the last stages of demetia. She got Alzheimers when she was in her 60s (according to my mom she popped pills like nobody's business.) The only relationship I had with my grandmother was visits to 'assisted living' with a bunch of other residents in the same condition. In other words, every weekend I went to hang at an insane asylum. I can tell you with no reservation that I would rather rot away physically but still have my mind than have my mind rot away and still have my body. I may have a distorted view, but to me, my mind is everything. I wouldn't care what health problems I may encounter, as long as my mind is still functioning, I'd be fine. Naturally I would prefer to have both good health and a sharp mind, but its not my question to rewrite.

Well this question got one hell of a response. That's how you know you're not on myspace. A question like this would be answered in two seconds, and then polluted with html of hearts and smiley faces and graphics then pasted immediately in the about me section of over a million random people with nothing better to do. However, I thought about it for a moment, and I figure I'd rather be intelligent and unhealthy... b/c theoretically, my being intelligent would help me create ways to become healthy. Unless of course the question is would I rather have a disease that produces severe lack of motor skills, but leaves my intelligence intact or physically fit but a little dim, then I'd choose the latter. In fact it's surprising how content one can be when one is unaware of what's going on around them. How's that D? I answer the question OK?
