Well, thanks, SooZ! I appreciate that.

I'm OK. Really. Did my posts read as if I wasn't? I AM at a changing point in my life where my steady employment of the past 10 years is iffy because of the economic downturn in the US... so I'm reassessing my dreams. (I am still employed at the same job I've had since 2000. Actually started with them in 1998 part time. That's a long time!)

I will, though, should this position not continue to work for me, most likely find another similar position with steady good pay, health insurance, vacation & sick leave benefits. That's the way I'm the most comfortable. Because, like you, I KNOW stress can cause disease. And also, I plan on owning my home outright in a few years because I'm going to need the equity in it to care for myself when I get old. So steady income is a must!

Still, at the same time... since I stand at a crossroads... it could possibly be an opportunity, so I'm exploring ways to follow my dreams ... because that's what I'd love to do.... but I won't do that unless I can get a grant or somehow otherwise get funded because I *know* I can be a success at whatever I do but I will need steady money to support myself and my daughter while turning that dream into my livelihood.

That's why I asked you, "How do people do this?" The answer is.... grants or small business loans. To me, having working capital for both business operating expenses and living expenses would be imperative. I won't move forward with anything unless I know I can comfortably support the effort financially. I won't drive a car without car insurance and I won't walk down the street without health insurance. I just can't afford to take those chances. That's just me.

I really am OK. And I really do appreciate your support and friendship. Thank you!
