Re: I want to change something
i work with kids with Aspergers' Syndrome (a relatively mild form in the autism spectrum). So that's a great idea, neo.
If the book, once it's created, works in conjunction with such a well-known organization, sales will be forthcoming, for sure.

I'd be over-joyed if this went towards Autism awareness and helps those wonderful children gain a voice in society, better than they have now.
My niece has Autism, she's social, not face to face so much as she has enjoyed the freedoms of the internet and typing and wants to write a book towards Autistic children someday. If we go with this and if you are interested, I could get a short story sent my way from her as a contribution.
Just a first thoughts.
I've got a few pieces in mind I can edit and contribute,
I'll try to get a few new and fresh ones as well.

Re: I want to change something
I think the book idea is a wonderful idea, James, especially after reading the discussion about supporting one specific charity and connecting to that charity's site. I'll help in any way I can.
(I didn't understand, at first, that you were talking about a book and was curious about the content and how it would be produced and distributed. There are a lot of details to such an effort which would need to be worked out, however, with the availability of print-on-demand, especially through Amazon.com's CreateSpace where the book would automatically appear on Amazon.com, funding for publishing costs wouldn't be an issue... just thinking aloud)

Re: I want to change something
I laid out/typeset a book for Mark Nazarenus (mnaz) called "Roundscape" -
http://studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtopic.p ... pe#p118878
I used CreateSpace so it has both a CreateSpace page to sell the book
https://www.createspace.com/3405103
and also an Amazon.com page because CreateSpace is owned by Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Roundscape-Notes- ... 612&sr=8-1
Anyway, I highly recommend the book. Mark is a brilliant writer and this is a great collection of essays!
Posting this info also to say that because I worked on this project with Mark, I am familiar with how CreateSpace works and the process of getting a book published using their services.
.......
Ideally, if/when a book gets created for whatever charitable organization you choose, the charity itself would agree to link to the book on their site, and it could be set up on CreateSpace so that profits/proceeds could go directly to the charity.
Just ideas coming out of my head again. Sometimes it's hard to stop them. Following through with them is a different story. If anybody had the misfortune of having to be put in the position of walking around in my brain for a day or two, they'd need a vacation pretty quick. LOL
