Eagles & Fish
Re: Eagles & Fish
Water + mingo + kayak
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: Eagles & Fish
ps - & thx for the pics, they were good to see. Always wanted to kayak the Shenandoah simply because I like the sound of that name. I am a bit envious, and glad, that you can ride her when you please.

Y'all sure know how to live!

Re: Eagles & Fish
Hi Doreen ! There is some living in it for sure !
Atehequa - shot of the Jessup River, southern Adirondacks. Paddling this was a joy.

That looks to be a good stretch of river, the mingo.

No it's in Loudoun County, VA... Algonkian Regional Park.
Re: Eagles & Fish
Another beautiful stretch of river.
Ahhh Loudoun County,Mosby's old stomping grounds. I've never been to that park, but may have to remedy that sometime in the future

Re: Eagles & Fish
Small park, really. State run, I think. Has a golf course, a swimming pool, and a few rental cabins. That's about it. Can't camp there. Lots of walking trails and deer. Some people take their boats out, as you see.
I designed a poster and full-page newspaper ad a few years ago for a Civil War Reenactment about Mosby's Raiders. Pretty cool event really.

Atehequa - there were no fishermen along this stretch but I freaked three rainbow out of their pool when I turned into it to get out of the current further downriver.
About half a mile down fishermen were taking medium size brook trout out of the shallows.
Doreen - thx for the pics. I've never seen the Potomac & your shots surprised me with how wide it is. Shot I liked the best was the trail.
Don't think I'd take in the park. I like campin' out of the kayaks too much.

Re: Eagles & Fish
The Potomac is actually MUCH wider than these photos in other areas....
Yeah, they really should have camping spots at this park.. they have picnic pavilions but no camping... Oh I think they have an RV area. And rental cottages.
