Amazing. Looks like all that hiking is starting to pay back dividends! Just take it slow & steady, Steve. The Gunpowder River will wait for you.

Good news. Small steps lead to bigger ones, which in time, hopefully, lead back into the great outdoors, the source of much inspiration.

home!
wonderful. A little privacy. A little fear. On your own turf. Good recovery to you.

Click your heels together three times...
Home - where you can poop with the bathroom door open - and they're not waking you up at 4 am to stick needles into you.
Glad you're back behind our own lines.

humbled
happy for a second chance
great partner
nurse Susie Q
she's got my back
slipped out into the garden
for a 630 am visit
wore me out
I sat with the flowers
a dove joined me
five feet away
and I wondered if it was wireman

He manifest himself this morning way up here in NH as a pair of turkey hens escorting at least a half-dozen chicks. They didn't flee at my approach, but let me get within 10 feet of them - then just tiptoed away into the field grass.

early morning
about 500 ft. each
tenth of a mile
small steps, but a start
days are long
can't do much but sit or lie down
so i try to vary locations

I once worked with a guy who'd been a trainier with the Army Corps of Engineers. Since they were military, they had to undergo P.T. And since they were engineers, they weren't exactly in top physical condition. On their 1st day, he had them run the distance between two telephone poles. When they could do that without collapsing, he had them run between three poles. Then four, then five, and in not too many weeks they were running a mile without vomiting. Those baby steps add up.
