"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
I just wanted to repost this quote that Doreen had posted by Martin Luther King Jr.

I hope we can all seriously take this to heart.

Nobody rejoicing here.
I was just interested to see how the "news story" would play out.

I would probably vote for cool hand Obama again. So I got blood on my hands too. Notice how the story has changed. Osama was unarmed.

"I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy..."

nor will I hold back any joy that removes the darkness caused by my enemy.

"We must all live together as brothers or perish together as fools."Martin Luther King Jr.

I don't know if I will ever vote again. Not in good conscience.

"" What would happen if there was a war and nobody showed up?"

there wouldn't be much of a war but it wouldn't solve the reason for bringing up the war in the first place, would it? ;)

I always loved this quote. That's the ideal! Let's hope this can one day happen. Let's believe that the human race can evolve and quit fighting and killing each other! I believe it! It's doubtful if it will happen in our lifetimes, however, what better time to start but now? Individual by individual, one by one, inner peace, refusing to participate in supporting the war machine and believing the deceit, the lies, the propaganda, the fear mongering.

YES! "We shall overcome some day" - Wasn't that a Martin Luther King quote? We chanted it at the rallies during the Vietnam war. It CAN happen. The human race CAN eliminate war! I believe it.

We need to get OUT of the mindset that "war is inevitable and necessary sometimes". It isn't. EVER.

:)

Peace.

Brahma

IF the red slayer think he slays,
Or if the slain think he is slain,
They know not well the subtle ways
I keep, and pass, and turn again.

Far or forgot to me is near; 5
Shadow and sunlight are the same;
The vanish'd gods to me appear;
And one to me are shame and fame.

They reckon ill who leave me out;
When me they fly, I am the wings; 10
I am the doubter and the doubt,
And I the hymn the Brahmin sings.

The strong gods pine for my abode,
And pine in vain the sacred Seven;
But thou, meek lover of the good! 15
Find me, and turn thy back on heaven

he was only charged with the '98 bombing, as far as i know. never officially charged for 9/11, for lack of hard evidence. not a good time to bring that up, i know...

still, he was never formally charged, due to "lack of hard evidence"-- as phrased by the fbi itself. no explanation has been given, of course, but theories range from: "it's a moot point; we already got our wars, so why bother?"... to the possibility that the tape (or perhaps all of them) was not authentic, and both cia and fbi knew it wouldn't stand up to closer scrutiny.

but it's all "water under the bridge" now, i suppose. . . . well, except it really isn't. they got their (ongoing) wars . . .
