Levi, I suggest you write a poem. A poem about the things you have done and how those things may have affected people in heart, mind and soul. Go deep with it Levi.
Then, submit it here, and let us decide if it should "make the grade" at litkicks, your site.
You not only sing like an angel, you smart too. What a great idea. Let's see if he has got the courage. I do not have much respect left for that dude. . Come on Levi redeem your self.

Atit I was only joking, thanks for asking that question, you did cross my mind as I was replying. On passove it is always the youngest person who asks the questions. "Why is this night different from all other nights. and so on.

I hope you were not offended by the brat remark I put a :) To let you know I did not mean it.

and you know, i want to like it there, so badly.

but the spontanaeity is gone. whatever happened to "first thought, best thought"? THAT was the beat perspective. play it as it lies. what would bukowski say if you went thru and capitalized all his shit? you took our greatness away from us, levi. you took away our autonomy. and that's what sucks about it. at least for me.

the addiction was the spontanaeity. i know it wasn't always high quality writing, but we didn't judge it. the BEST PART of it, was when it wasn't judged at all. it was just accepted as being a perfect snapshot of a moment, a feeling, a phase, a sentiment .... even if it was ugly or unpolished.

ugly and unpolished is what was gorgeous about it. i was addicted to it. the nastiness and ungroomed, unpreened beauty of it. what we had was patti smith. it was unbathed, unbrushed, unshaped. what you have now is celine dion. it's wearing concealer, cover-up foundation powder, with corrective shading, with all the lines unnaturally straightened, the eye pulled toward the shape which is most popularly concluded to be flattering.

and man, that's not what poetry is about. that's the J. Evans Pritchard approach to poetry, if i may quote the Dead Poet's Society for just a moment.

rip it out.

GA I agree spontanaeity stokes me But:
necessity of feet and meter.
without them, we would topple
I think we need a poetry board here, the poetry board on litkicks was the only place I hardly ever posted, just a thank you now and then. How about it Doreen I would be happy to moderate it if nobody else will do it.

Good morning big sister

That poetry board was a sacred place, I treated it with reverance. creative is a big tent, covers stories and poetry. I was just thinking about Doreen’s poem rhyme and meter. I would just like to know there was one board where I see nothing but poetry.

Sounds like a lot of work and probably not worth the effort.

Never realized Go was AP.

man you just put a whole new light on it. Thanks

What judih said.

Creative Writing is a poetry board and a story board and it's for any other types of creative writing you want to post.

the GO! forum is for spontaneous word jams..... poetry.

Go!

That litkick poetry board was a sacred grove for me. I treated it with reverence. Hardly ever posted there. Jus sat on my hands and read. Had no words to reply.
Makes sense to me Doreen I like things as they are. I realize now that most of what I post on creative should have been posted to Go.

go going gone

Hest said...
Levi, are you kidding? Everyone is invited at studio eight, bygones are bygones, oh, except for Doreen? Why weren't you just up front about it and say everyone except Doreen? Would that have been any different? Was that just a little too direct? Are you afraid of directness? Did you want to just continue banning her behind the scenes?
What were you thinking?
Was that your idea?
FREAKY!

Hugs to Doreen, that musta hurt....you of all people do not deserve that kind of covert disrespect, especially on your own site.
Nor did Firsty and Pel deserve the crappy ugly treatment Jamelah was so childishly over the top with....damn, i wish she'd knock that shit off. It's very unbecoming.
Ms. Prynne... you are a gem.

Incredible, huh?

You see what you see and you say it.

I love you.

Thank you.

Firsty I owe you an apology. I think I may have already appologize. I had a hard time visualizing brooklyn keying your car. That on screen persona of his, that cool guy from brooklyn, I suppose I idolized him. But now that i think about some of the emails that i got from him I think it he may not have been the one sending them. I am sure his two helpers could have been writing to me in his name. I wonder if you saw through it better than me.

and thanks again
