What is your Perfect Movie?

Casablanca is the perfect movie
I've probably seen it twenty times
but the suspense is still there and the longing
and the damned song, play it again....

the nuclear reaction between love and loyalty and idealism
and just simple friendship
and the song, that damned song
that knits it all together

"just remember this...."
"Here's lookin' at you, kid."
"all the gin joints.....
"the problems of three people don't amount to a hill of beans...
mantras in black and white

La Marseillaise brings tears to my eyes
I'm not even French
Rick is such a softie
I think I'll bet on 22
'cuz the fundamental things apply

Casablanca is the perfect movie

Casablanca is a winner. I have an obsession with the French Resistance. So good.

I would have a hard time picking a favourite, I love so many. Hmm, I do love Harold and Maude, its helped me through many a hard times.

My final answer: Hitchcock's Rear Window.

I always get into watching Sunset Boulevard. It's a perfect movie.
Then again, I never tire of watching "at the Circus", Marx Bros either. Another perfect movie...
(Casablanca ain't that bad either :D )

mmm... I don´t know... in fact, they are something like a collage in my mind now. I really enjoyed "Zelig" and in different a way, of course , "I compagni" when I saw them, long time ago. Maybe it´s a good idea to go to the one videoclub in Rosario that may have them, and see them again!!!

The new Paris Hilton vid is pretty good. She has a menage with George W. and Jeb Bush. It's called The Oval Orafice.

Part I of "The Bush Bros." series -- setting the industry standard in political comedy/porn.

The Shawshank Redemption

my my my
I've watched it a hundred times
and am always pleased with the ending
prison lives
lies
struggles to survive
rapt attention
years the years the years
of progression
only the strong willed survive
yes redemption
and the strength in friendship

a many layered wonder

"get busy living or get busy dying"

"Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

"I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

I hope.

Faster Pussycat! Kill Kill!

It's perfect because it has the correct balance of the the three things that make great movies:
1. Speed
2. Sex
3. Violence.

Seriously, I think 2005's Syriana falls in with my all time favs. Though it doesnt have the love story interest of Casablanca, it is chockablock full of political intrigue, double crossing and cloak n dagger stuff that makes a superb story and a winner of a movie than can be viewed many many times and still leave you wanting to see it again. A perfect movie, in my book, is one that leaves your head spinning in thought when it's over.

Overall I would have to say
Life Is Beautiful

But there are different movies I would rate perfect by genre.

Comedy
The God's Must Be Crazy

Musical
Chicago

Western
Legends of The Fall.

Science fiction
Forbidden Planet

I will never watch another war movie after Full Metal Jacket.
Rest in peace Gus, you beat marine.

A couple of movies have stayed with me for over forty years even though I have only seen them once.

Jules and Jim
is one of those.
