My Space ...the big connection these days....especially for bands....I joined a few years ago and kinda forgot about it.....now I've found it invaluable as a music and poets resource......any insights or comments about the place would be appreciated.....wired

I used to be really into it, checking everyday. I loved the online popularity contest, and signing on to a new message everyday. But the longer I have the accounnt the more bored and disinterested I become with it. I haven't checked mine in ages.

Its great for music. Usually when I hear about a band for the first time, I use Myspace to hear some of their music. Much safer since the RIAA started blaming 'piracy' instead of poor music and high prices for low record sales. Its also convenient for keeping in touch with friends who have moved away or I just don't normally see.

I get emails I don't want. It took me quite a while to get my account canceled. I never used it. I only signed up because that was the only way to view the pages people sent me by email. I don't like the hoops I had to jump through in order to get it stopped. I'm sure it's good for some people. Just way too big and too many emails for me.
