fire

i started a fire in school today. a pretty big one.

i was using the vaccu-form, a contraption like a big flat toaster, over which you would soften a sheet of plastic, pinned into a frame and suspended above the element. plastic becomes supple, and you swing the frame on it's hinges over any random object at the ready, setup on the vaccu-table. think air-hockey...you know all those little holes? and you can feel the breeze? reverse it. the plastic sucks in hard and fast when you step on the pedal, pulls out all the air and you wind up with a perfect duplicate of said random object impressed into your cooling sheet of plastic.

so i was pounding out a series of devil masks today, did a half dozen or so, then rigged up the machine and for some reason walked away. can't seem to remember now what for. but struck up a conversation with Faith-Anne and suddenly felt death breathing over my shoulder. i turned to look at him and saw the biggest yellow eyes, a cloud of pure flame was his face and black and billowing in tendrils was his hair.

i hit all the power switches, sent Faith-Anne up for teacher, and i grabbed the extinguisher. has anybody ever used one of these before? i didn't shoot it. i stood there with my finger in the pin, wondering which would damage the machine worse; the fire or the spray. the fire gradually burned itself out, and we all got lungfulls of burnt plastic and asbestos.

have you ever accidentally started a fire? ever seen something burn that really wasnt supposed to? it's a real brush with the mystical macabre.

betcha Faith-Anne said "let me stand next to your fire"
funny story, even though fires are something worthy of worry. I started a few minor fires in my day, nothing major but nerve wracking nonetheless.

whats crackin ole G to the A? whats new in your life? how are you doing?
