I think I like to complicate things for myself scholastically- I subconsciously challenge myself into writing these crazy themed papers and make correlations between things that have absolutely no connection with the other, except I believe there are so I dive into it. I am applying an intricate Greek mythological theme to the "simple" children's book I am currently writing about and although I just need to straighten my ideas out and type up my handwritten notes, I still catch myself wondering what the heck I just did.
I love school, it spawns thought. My mind teaches me new things all the time.

i'm with ya
i took a course in the history/politics of south/southeast asia a couple years ago...i wrote a paper on the bangladesh elections of 2001, which offered hope for a movement away from personality politics and cronyism, a movement which the candidates had agreed to espouse
i did this knowing full well the paper was due the day after the election, so i ended up staying up all night scouring asian websites and newspapers trying to get the most current info available before handing the paper in...it was an experiment - could i write about something that would be so topical that history was in motion while the prof read the thing
it worked, although i only got a B+
