interesting rhetoric
A knock off is a cheap imitation
But I don't think that is how the bear was using that figure of speech.

I hate to admit I was wrong but I spent an hour looking for definitions for the phrase "knocks you off" and I could not find the one I had in mind.
Bums me, to admit I was wrong, I guess I will have to check with the ultimate source of what he meant. I will have to ask the bear.

But I usually know when the bear is annoyed
It shows up at the end of his fist
Emerging out of the formless mist

Or a Fist.

Wisdom laid out.

My bones brittle from all that wisdom

Or pearls before swine
Wisdom or vanity
much the same
