Studio8 - Uniting the Arts

I took a room in Oly, it's kinda dirty, but I cleaned it up. It is in town though!, closer to work, buses to take to work!!!! and it's dirt cheap...should be okay for a couple of months until I get enough doe to rent a flat.
I'm really glad i'm headin into town, I'm just craving to connect, check out Sweet Adeline type groups, maybe try out for the theater, meet some local musicians.....Where I am is pretty isolated, about 20 miles outta town.
I'm renting from a nice enough bloke....he's quiet and checks out as far as any criminal histories...he's just not a very good housecleaner. He's got two really cool littlish doggies which I like and I plan on sparkling up his abode alot.. needs a good vacumn and cobweb removal...didn't see any vermin or anything...sigh.
got some of my stuff in the room today, cleaned the hell out of it, and it looks pretty darn good..wood floor, nice windows, my own entry door, satellite tv.......
But it's all new and yeah, i'm a little bit scared...my gut says it's okay, that my fear is normal, nothing weird to worry about. A couple of my friends met the guy, they thought he was very cool, just kinda of slouch when it comes to cleaning up....
At any rate, i'll only have Library access to the computer for awhile...so might not see you all very much. And I think my casework job is going fulltime......yeehaw!
I also plan on working on a short story...pen and paper style.
Send me good energy on this room thing....I'm counting on you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's great that you found a room and it's closer to work, but it's not so great that you won't be connected to S8 for long periods of time. Damn balancing acts. But your attitude sounds good and your future looks bright... you just might need some sunglasses.

You got it, Theda. This move to Oly. has seemed to me like a good move from day one, even if getting the right job and getting set up has (perhaps) taken longer than hoped. I think you're onto something good now. Best of luck!

Thanks you guys! I felt your energies! Spent my first night in my new room last night and all was just fine. Am at the library right now before I go into work...Tuesdays it's 1pm to around 9, clinic tonight!!!!! First night doing the casework for chronics on my own. It's funny you know, being kinda in need myself, but helping others...it really works doing that for me, keeps me in perspective and not feeling so down.
And moving out of my friend's place is the best all round because she is very wealthy, family welfare type thing and her wealth just kinda always reminded me of my poverty....i dunno, if that makes sense, it's been kind of an epiphany for me to realize what a downer that has been!
Anyways, found the library, going to work soon, things are getting back on track..and Mnaz, you're right, it's taken a longer time than I ever expected and I appreciate your remarks regarding that....I appreciate everyone's remarks very much right now....
Check this out...I have 40 dollars to my name, (i've spent all savings these past 10 months adrift in a leap), never in my whole life have I been this poor, but I get paid on Thursday.

Sometimes we give the help and sometimes we get it.
And, forgive me, theda, but the forty dollars to my name sounds like a line from a song you'll write or are writing.
It's funny how things become clearer one step away. What is so oppressive, becomes simply a circumstance as soon as it shifts.
i'm learning this as i tell people my stories. The telling helps render it detachable.
