So I've decided to take a more active approach to resolving my medical issues by going on a Kombucha and fruit juice fast...wish me luck.

I do wish you luck
I don't know much about the tea
I did a google and read a bit about it is dangerous if you are going to brew it yourself. Things go wrong it could turn toxic.
Something about anthrax.
but I know you will do it right so
drink up compadre and I hope it brings you some relief

If you feel that path will help you, by all means follow it, Kurt...
Physical life is a peculiar thing when you really think about it... how what we eat, drink, behave, so affects our bodies... exercise is so important along with healthy diets and drinks... a balance or quality of life versus the quantity of life... fasting has a long history of healing that goes back further than recorded history and obviously has worked as we all are descendants of those same people... but listen closely to your body as you adventure into these cures.. listen closely, my friend, and respond accordingly. I trust you will and I trust you will listen to your conscience as well.. Jiminy Cricket is good voice once we recognize and accept it...
Keep in touch while you fast... share the experience.

fasting is always interesting.
the first day, i'm starving
the next day, i'm less
then comes the pattern and a feeling of lightness
on the other hand that wild mushroom tea is a stinking affair
so be prepared with incense for the house
and always listen to your body. if you crave brown rice, maybe it would be a nice way to add food. (good PH and all)

I'm not familiar with kambucha. Need to look it up. Might get some myself.
I'm trying this
http://blisstea.com/default.aspx
It's delish! very delightful!
I'm also trying this
http://www.macamagic.com/
Read about the health benefits of both.
How long are you planning on fasting? Fruit juice has a lot of sugar. Add some fresh raw vegetables after a few days.
Are you getting any exercise? What's the status from the doctors? How's the ringing in your ears and dizziness? Did they find a sinus infection?

I didn't think I'd make it but I did...fasting is done...Do I feel any different..no. Nor did I suffer any of the fasting horrors I had read about...it almost became normal...I did reaffirm though the power of the senses - as I never really got hungry...but I lusted for food...I must of looked like a St. Bernard...salivating my desire...I love food...I love shopping for food...I love the smell of food...I love preparing food...I love watching others eat...One of my fondest memories of my NYC summer is sitting at the communal table at Zabars chowing down on a bagel...drinking coffee and discussing the day with all others at the table..Christ knew his # was up so he enjoyed one last meal with his buddies...
I became very sensitive to food advertising....we are obsessed my friends...inundated...bombarded...

Hey,
Kurt... great subject to write about after a fast. I enjoy food also... but I insist on control but even that fails me at times,,, like this weekend - I made two dozen sugar free (for Soo) cupcakes, chocolate with cream frosting... too much to resist so to compensate my guilt this a.m. I walked a little longer than usual... it was worth it.
btw: I did not eat all 24 cupcakes, alright..?

cool, your confrontation, kurt with food obsession. Food in its prep and enjoyment is a delight.
i stopped really enjoying cooking a while ago, but i love making bread. i have never stopped enjoying simple but delicious food and eating is a joy.
One thing is the post-fast first taste of food. There's nothing like it. A bite of a cucumber can symbolize the entire planet. A forkful of brown rice can delight one totally. Post-fast is amazing.
interesting study! And it reawakens so much more than the senses.
mtmynd, cupcakes for Soo. i guess they were simply too good. what can you do? right - you said it----walk and get the stuff rotating and punching up the blood system.
as long as it's made with love, it can't be bad.
