One trillion dollars is One Thousand Billion dollars or One Million Million Dollars, i.e. $1,000,000,000,000.oo.

If you laid one dollar bills end to end, you could make a chain that stretches from earth to the moon and back again 200 times before you ran out of dollar bills! One trillion dollars would stretch nearly from the earth to the sun. It would take a military jet flying at the speed of sound, reeling out a roll of dollar bills behind it, 14 years before it reeled out one trillion dollar bills.

If our government is going to spend 'our' money bailing out 'our' financial problems, it would only seem logical to bail out every American citizen's debt load with 'our' money first. This would give 'our' public an enormous amount of money to spend since their money wasn't tied up in debt. As the G6 or even the U.S. has done many times, cancel all debt not only in the U.S, but worldwide. This would certainly be far cheaper than one trillion dollars being spent without any guarantee that it would work. However, starting fresh with nobody or no nation owing any other person or nation anything could only give new life to all peoples and all nations. The unrealistic burden of a debt that no generation could ever come close to paying off is illogical. Canceling all debt is totally logical. Why not? Why not break the chains of economic slavery that has repressed generations of people worldwide. Hasn't that time arrived?

Cancel all debt, start all over.... immediate fix to the economy. Money will start flowing again!

Plus, I think the auto industry should send us all a new car.

This would clear their showroom floors of gas guzzlers so they can start making energy efficient cars, battery operated, hybrids, etc ...

Yes it would be a great idea, cancel all debts, then we will have lots more money to buy more crap from China. Don't mind me, I am a cynical old man who is pretty stupid about money. I don't think China is going to forgive us our debts.



All this bailout Wall St crap is Bushco. I don't know what Obama is going to do about people losing their homes or the tricks the credit card companies have pulled on naive people. I betcha he will do something more than hand over billions to billionaires.

To me it looks like he is going to spend 850 billion dollars putting people to work, investing in programs that create jobs, help the poor, provide health care, so on and so forth. Maybe even subsidizing programs for artists and writers like FDR did with his works progress administration
Maybe Obama can lead us out of this mess with out any help from Tojo or Hitler this time.

truck... that word 'socialism' has actually never been fully exercised other than possibly within the community of religious monastics. That alone would turn of the general public.

Much like the word, 'communism.' It is a theory only. What Marx wrote about has never been fully implemented nor will ever be fully implemented in our lifetime. True Communism is so far off into the distant future that it is remarkable that Marx even imagined something like that how many years ago..?

Maybe if the name 'socialism' was changed to 'freedom' it may make the theory a little more palatable. The oppressive regimes of the USSR, China and Korea, for example, tainted the words socialism and communism far beyond the intent of the original theory. These regimes never even had socialism in it's ideal, much less any hint of pure communism. They were and continue to be a sham.

Marx theorized that socialism would come about after capitalism no longer served it's purpose. Then when socialism served it's purpose, the final step would be communism. The important thing here is capitalism has to be realized first... something the regimes I mentioned never had at all. Sham.
