Glad you liked it, Mingo!

I liked the part about flying .... I don't fly much ..... and when I do, I'm just AWED by the clouds and the gorgeous world up in the sky and how the earth looks below and I look out the window, jaw dropped!

So many passengers just sit there reading the newspaper or sleeping. I never could understand that!

I ain't flown in years. I'm glad for the experience but also glad I don't have any call to do it anymore. It's strictly ground transport these days. That's sweaty enough thank you.

No doubt these are the good old days.

Flying makes me claustrophobic, all those people jammed together. Maybe first class is nicer. I love to fly in small planes. A whole different feeling I would jump at the chance to fly a in a Piper Cub again

he made me laugh and I understood his english! :) a too confortable generation??? maybe... but I agree with s-t: big planes & airports are a noisy mix of overcrowded passive towns & hospitals waiting rooms, though with a great view!. I guess maybe most of humanity thought too much about flying and maybe simply super-technic planes are not enough. I really prefer my flyings while dreaming 25 years ago or some kind of shamanic ascension!... smaller planes... maybe... at least I like St-Ex writings!

many years ago we both had a chance to fly in a Stearman biplane which we did... both of us in different planes. It was a charitable deal to raise money for a children's cancer support group that Soo was a part of. The planes belonged to Red Baron Pizza and they used them to promote their frozen pizzas.

The pilot I had was a character. He asked me if I wanted to do whatever he wanted to do and I answer sure... what a white-knuckle ride he took me on! even cut the engine off while on a head long descent... whoa! amazing. I sat up in the front where the engine heat became very hot despite the open air cockpit. i imagined those old timers that flew great distances in those things and how wild a time those early flights must have been.

haven't been flying since my son got married some 8+ years ago and with the shit one goes thru nowadays with homeland security and such, i don't miss it.
