Studio8 - Uniting the Arts

well it's not like i havent been doing anything.

i hope yr all well - i've been in grad school for the past year or so, working on changing careers to be a teacher.

or an author — over winter break i sat down and collected what i've been scribbling for the past 7 years and now i'm at about the 3rd draft or so of The Great Big Book, and i'm anxious to get away from the isolation for a bit. i posted the prologue in "workshop" just now in case you're interested.

pel is good, the kids are good. life is ragged but we're having fun. the highlight of this semester so far is that we're going to see cornel west give a talk tonight on campus.

so, yeah — good to see some old names still kickin around.

for an unemployed father of two, going $50 grand in debt in the hopes of landing a $33k teaching salary, i'm doing great!



i either have a gold mine or a train wreck with that book. i always said i wouldnt go down without a fight, but i forgot that that means that at crunch time, i'll be both going down and fighting at the same time, neither of which is very much fun.

but writing for 3 weeks straight is definitely fun. i dont know why i ever thought i could get by doing anything else.
