Adventure alert! Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by hester_prynne » May 22nd, 2010, 1:28 am

Tommorrow I'm goin to a rehearsal with a bunch of musicians I've never met, except one.
We're playing a party in June, (for money!), kinda of a work party but mostly higher-ups so I won't know many folks. :?
Doing everything from The Beatles to Blondie!
It will be grand to sing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

EXCELLENT! :D

Best of luck to you, and the band, Hester. Break a tonsil.

Be careful you don't make too much money. I know how you feel about those with lots of money.

Ahhhhhhh....
It was so fine.
One of the requests we got for the party is a tune Ronstadt did called Long Long Time.
I always loved that song.
It's got so much more meaning for me now than it did when I sang it years ago.
Made me feel really good, singing it, just sorta flows out with my heart leading. I love that the most.
Made me feel really great just to sing again with some really good musicians, all around my age, and they know the good ol tunes.
What a good day! I feel so good.
Thank you all so much for knowing how much this means to me.
Wish I could just sing all the time.....

Thank you Arcadia, you are the best.

Hey Nom Sum, what did you mean by:
"Be careful you don't make too much money. I know how you feel about those with lots of money."

Just curious!

Did you not say earlier that you were glad that you only had a small amount of savings to be concerned for?

I'll never find your exact quote, but here's a good one for singers and savers alike:
"There is only one 'success' -- to be able to spend your life in your own way." (Christopher Morley)

Rather a jump regarding how I feel about people who have money.
Unpeg me.
I think folks with money who hoard it, lord it over others and think they have more credibility than others are boring. I mean come on, anyone who has made alot of money, and I mean millions, can't believe that the money was all legitimately earned by them. That's BS. That much money always involves some sort of cheating by having an upperhand, at some point.

Folks with or without money who are aware that they are fortunate, and that others aren't, without judgement, are more my style.

God bless the child who's got his own.
Doesn't mean a ridiculous amount of wealth!!!!!

Had another rehearsal today with the band i'm soon to play a gig with. We need to work on the songs bigtime!
I can always sing for my supper....!

Nice chatting w/you as always

Best wishes for a good time
Makes me happy to hear that you are singing again.

I know what you said Hester, he is misquoting you entirely. It was on page three of Cecil's Unemployment thread.

I could post the link to what you said but if he is curious he could use the search function on studio eight to find what he is is misquoting.

And you never used the  emoticon
That is non sum's.

Do you know what a pissant is?
I am a recovering pissant.
Vonnegut has a nice definition in his novel Cat's Craddle.
I wish there was a 12 step program for pissants.
"A pissant is somebody who thinks he's so damn smart, he can never keep his mouth shut. No matter what anybody says, he's got to argue with it. You say why you like something, and, by God, he'll tell you why you're wrong to like it. A pissant does his best to make you feel like a boob all the time. No matter what you say, he knows better."
