Are you a fan of the empire waistline, babydoll style for blouses and dresses? I think it's cute but all the girls and women look pregnant to me.

I liked them more when I was thinner than I am!!

I love empire waists, they fit my moods, and I've been wearing that style dress/shirt since I was seventeen. I haven't changed in what I likes much. Oh! and I still wear a few pairs of bell bottom jeans with embroidery. I feel so much myself when dressed like myself.

For me... I like more form-fitted tops. My waistline is not as slim as it was when I was a young lady and I love waistlines.... I'm a big fan of the curve between waist and hips... I think it's pretty and more form-fitting garments are more flattering to me because if the bodice narrows at my waistline, it makes my waistline look slimmer. I wear tank tops or long-sleeved scoop necks (like the tops of a leotard). Dancer-type tops. They are staples in my wardrobe.

I sometimes wore the empire waistline style back in the 60s and 70s when they were in style before.... like Arcadia, I liked them better when I was thinner (well, when my waistline was slimmer).

I like the peasant shirts & blouses but I don't wear them these days. I probably would choose one that's open in the front... so I could wear a tank top or some other form-fitting top underneath it.

Dame .... I wear bell bottoms & flares even during the years they don't make them! I keep my jeans for years. Today, the style is the skinny tapered jean but I don't have any of those. I only have boot cut, flares & bell bottoms. I LOVE jeans with embroidery!

Hester.... I just got a catalogue in the mail the other day because I'm on all these mailing lists and there are some really great styles in here.... They have costumes, too... but the costumes are not what I'm pointing out.... I'm pointing out the blouses and ... the peasant styles, etc. The jewelry's great, too! Plus, you might like the witchy styles... *smile* ... check it out! The prices are reasonable, too.

Kurt... Is fashion talk girl talk? Maybe somewhat.

Small talk.

Probably many women are more interested in talk about fashion than men, but there are a lot of men who are interested, too.

I don't know if there are many here at S8 who are interested but some of the world's top fashion designers are men. Most of them are men, actually.

Some men like to talk about what women wear, also. Many don't, but some do. They know what they like to see women wearing which make women more attractive to them.

Are you more fond of seeing women in a two-piece swimsuit or is a one-piece swimsuit attractive to you, too? Do you like it when a woman dresses up or do you prefer to see women in jeans? Just wondering. lol

I like to watch a show on Bravo... I think it's Bravo.... can't remember the name of the show offhand. But it's a fashion designer contest show. Most of the designers in the competition are men.... well at least half anyway.

We can talk about men's fashions if you want, too.

Do you prefer enjoy wearing a suit and tie? How often do you wear one? Some men love to dress up more formally. Others prefer dressing casually and dread having to put on a suit.

Do you wear sandals in the summer or just sneakers? Some men won't wear sandals.

How about shorts? Do you wear shorts in the summer? Some men won't wear shorts either, no matter how hot it gets.

Just wondering.

As a kid I was raised on dirt roads and fields. The day school got out for summer off came the shoes.
My fashion sense depends on what falls out of the closet, although as a teenager I had snake skin boots with 6" heels and jeans held together by multiple coloured patches. I bought a fedora recently that I wear to gallery openings.

Oh man!... do you have any photos of you in those boots and multi-patched jeans? I bet you looked hot!

I'm like you... soon as the weather breaks, the shoes come off. I only wears shoes in the summer when I have to.

How about the fedora? I'd like to see that, too. That's nice!

Veils just kill me.

I wish I had a high top hat like the doctor in Heidi. The ones that collapse to a flat disc and pop up when you strike them with your hand.
