Alienpoet - a Studio8 member... remember her?

Post by Doreen Peri » August 31st, 2010, 11:04 pm

Just heard today that Dakotah (Alienpoet here on Studio8) has passed away from a heart attack. I loved her dearly. Remember her? She used to participate in many of our early Jams.

I feel an emptiness in my heart. I'll miss her. She was a fine poet, a beautiful spirit, a wonderful giving person who gave of herself to take care of her mother for years before her mom passed away. She was also a documentary filmmaker... a very talented lady... with a heart of gold.

In memory of her, search her posts and read some of her poetry.

Thank you.

Blessed be her memory
well, why not?

bless the young ones
the dumb ones
the numb ones
the rum ones
the bum ones
the wrong ones
the strong ones
the weak ones
the old ones
the live ones
the dead ones
bless them
even the fun ones

Some more of Alienpoet's poetry.... jamming
Making love with Beauty
Engorged in her
orgasmic depths
bursting with vision
splurging words of
potent musky imagery
I’ve worn your clothes with nothing-on underneath.
I’ve absorbed your tears, you’ve clawed into me.
And I restrict myself to these moments.
God bless the child
that rips at my heart
that holds my hand
holds me hostage
raises my spirits
makes me cry
makes me sing
whispers in my ear
i love you
and lives in my dreams
the heart of me
my beloved mother
who loved me
protected me
guided me
was my life force
my beautiful mother
my treasure
a blessed angel
will live in my heart forever.

( i will miss my mom forever ...we must cherish our mothers)
familiar songs
remain the same
playing out
our every pain
every step we take
every breath we take
every vow we break
whereever we move
we get stuck in the groove
it hurts to be in love
same old road
same old song
treasure chest lies empty
except the echoes of paperback dreams
one too many in the sands of time
long corridors where the rain comes in
there are no windows to open

I didn't know her, but I'm reading her beautiful words and see a lovely heart. :( It's very sad, I'm glad you brought some of her poems in here with us. Like her little voiced light.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

I did not know her but I feel a sense of loss. I am grateful for her legacy.

I just want to celebrate that.

i slept well
the moon was full-faced
grinning from ear to ear
morning brings me to caffiene
which i mostly spell wrong
i want to taste the day
i hesitate
and falter
i'm just that way
but never fear...
i will make my move
get in the groove
and face the sunshine
and the hot
sweaty
race
i hope to see miracles
well..i did ...
i got up didn't i?

a shock.

she was something special, wasn't she? Not just for her poems (which I loved; she could always tap into the core of her emotions and lay it out, perfectly, simply). AP always made me feel welcome after my many long absences from AC. Always had a bright and cheery thing to say to me. and everyone else.

It's odd how one becomes so attached to these almost faceless people around here and when you hear that they're gone how it hits you like a real blow to the heart and stomach. Damn. :(

Forever offline

How sad is that
our future epitaph
the nature of our existence
now you see us, now you don't

just a blinking cursor
signifying finality
end to our words
blink
blink
blink
out
