seven. started on LK in '03. first post was on 'utterances,' something about a deeply religious man in utah, my friend's father, who let me stay in his house for a while, just after "9 - 11." he insisted that I must kneel down in the desert to be saved. kreddible trout and foolish paeter replied... my first poem was two weeks later, about driving into the arc of desert dust, naturally. luke 't drifter replied. I was simply hooked and utterly fascinated by the place, by doreen and lightning rod, by mtmynd and the buddhabitch, by judih and beatvibe and pathwise and shamatha, um and conked, ellipsis and hester prynne, vaselina and the gothic hippie chic, crimson war goddess and firsty, holygoof and jim vinny, the anonymous one, brooklyn and firecracker, allez and rain70 and cat 22 and the mingo, headburner and stilltrucking, oh and I forgot arcadia and WIREMAN and jamelah... but I guess that convergence of raw energy might have been a bit too much for even itself... the raw energy of those boards, those spiraling threads, man that was a moment. in retrospect i wish i hadn't spent so much time arguing on the p&p...

"facebook game" ... great terminology.

I have all the games blocked. Mafia Wars, What Famous Writer Are You?, Farmville, Farm Town, Battle of the Idiots, Click Like if You Like Liking Like, We Need an Don't Like Button, and on and on and on and on.No games for me on FB. But I have a network of artists all over the world on FB... great inspiration and galleries. The "tag" thing for poetry is a little strange. People get mad at me when they tag me and I don't reply to their poem. Sighh... I do my best to keep up.

Ahh... but I LOVE facebook... I've reconnected with people I never thought I'd ever hear from again, people I knew from my childhood (it's like meeting new friends), met new people from all over the planet, and I have a lot of fun posting humorous quotes, odd conversations, videos, music, galleries, etc. Very powerful software. Hats off to Zuckerberg. I LOVE that guy. He reminds me of my nephew. They look like brothers and are the same age and have similar personalities.

In my most humble opinion, the best site on the internet is Studio Eight.
http://studioeight.tv/phpbb

I LOVE Studio Eight!

LOL :D   :P 8)

There are some of the most creative people on the planet on Studio8 and coming soon, we'll be able to upload mp3s, Radio8 will be revived with a new presence at http://www.radio8.org, we'll keep doing online events and now we have tech help via our new friend James (neologistic) who loves the site and is enthusiastic about the arts.

Our banner collection for the automatic rotating banners will increase, we're going to have gallery upload options and a new content management system my son started developing a few years back.

Of all the arts sites on the net, Studio8 rocks! Not only that, the lady that runs the place is pretty darn cool, too.

In-person arts events will be planned again and hopefully a revival of the Cabaradio show, also.

.....

Oh and Mark.... do you still have that video tape of the cabaradio show? If you do, could we meet some time for lunch somewhere so I can get it? That way I can take it to get it digitized for youtube and to show right here.

For 4 years, btw, you've been asking for the ability to upload your images to the Studio8 site and we're very happy that you're now able to do that! Enjoy!

...............

Please pardon the internal advertisement.
It serves no purpose at all other than to

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!

Dor' - why doesn't the HTML for centering (<center> etc) work anymore? I miss that function being a self-centered person.

Cecil,

New software doesn't accept html tags for security reasons based on the phpBB software developers decisions (sometimes html code can be used to post stuff you don't want to click *smile*... malware or porn or who knows what all). Anyway, so with the new version of the software, they decided to disallow html code entirely.

That's why the youtube postings now don't accept the embed code and you can now use the [youtube] code which eyelidlessness & I added. Previously, I had the site configured to accept specific html tags for youtube embedding and for centering but no longer is that possible.

Thanks for the reminder. I can create a center code using BB code which will be brackets like the bold, italic, etc. codes, instead of <> it will be [].

Adding it to my to-do list.

Cecil,

James (neologistic) fixed it for you/us.

Look here:
http://studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtopic.p ... 1&p=133349

Look above the posting window when you're posting, there's also a "center" button to push so all you have to do is select the text you want to center, then push the "center" button and the BB center tags are created for you.

I am so happy to have James' help around here. (many thanks, James!)
