Pre-Jam Discussion

Post by judih » January 21st, 2005, 12:00 pm

to start off the pre-jam,
i'd like to pose a question based on what Stilltrucking said about eating a lot of spinach prior to jamming.

what do you do?
how do you wind up your mechanisms for a jam?

dietary changes?
extra caffeine?
other?
shower/bath?
change of clothing? and if so...kimono, nude, well-roaded jeans, other (specify)
background music
major caloric intake or meditative fast?
meditation?
singing in the rain?
dancing around the house to lou reed and various artists singing Perfect Day? (if other music, please specify)

other activities (please specify)

thanks for your honesty

Here is a list of my present preparation activities;

dietary changes? no
extra caffeine? no
other? liquids - water, tea, cocoa
shower/bath? - why not
change of clothing? and if so...kimono, nude, well-roaded jeans, other (specify) - comfortable, barefoot or with my daughter's lush slippers
background music - yeah - dylan, dead, lou reed
major caloric intake or meditative fast? - usual vegetarian stuff -salad, vegetables, rice.
meditation? - no
singing in the rain? - if it starts to rain, it might happen
dancing around the house to lou reed and various artists singing Perfect Day? (if other music, please specify) - yes

other activities (please specify) - wind down after an intense week. quiet. afternoon lovemaking, jeremy irons/forrest whittaker movie.

that's it for now - 2 and a 1/2 hours before jam - there's time to further be pre-jamming.

Every time is different for me, jude ...

It's such a spiritual thing. I have to go with the flow of what's happening at the moment in order to clear my head and heart in preparation.

For instance.... today, I'm about to head out of the house and go over to my employer's place and pick up a CD with the quarterly newsletter files on it and stop by the office supply store and buy some paper and then I have to come back here and print another 100 trifolds, then after that, I have to work on a website design for a new company which is getting ready to open and after I finish working, my head will be clearer and so I'll probably fix myself a screwdriver and a cook a big pot of spinach for me and order a pizza for LR and my daughter and by then, y'all will probably be jammin' away and I'll eat my spinach and drink my screwdriver and watch for a bit until the spinach hits my muse.

Let's call this one The Spinach Jam. ;)

I think you should entitle your poesy fling the "corpse jam." Every post must be about a corpse. Soldiers, dead civilians, tsunami victims, walking dead during Rapture, etc.

Celebrate the Corpse today on Studio 8!
:x

Hey 'Zoso

Why don't you start a separate thread in the Jam Session forum for a Corpse Jam if you want?

Sounds deadly! ;)
