Well, I sold my first hard cash sponsorship ad on The Poet's Eye today. I sold it to Poor David's Pub, a famous live music venue in Dallas. The owner, David Card, is a notorious skinflint among Dallas nightclub owners. He makes great sport of this reputation in fact. I'm half amazed that he ponyed up. But he had been reading TPE already and was amused by it plus he sort of owed me one from years ago when I saved his ass by playing a gig for free one New Years. Anyway, I'm tickled. It will help me sell more ads. It's not a bad deal for the sponsors either. With as many hits as I'm getting, I can show somebody's ad about 10,000 times per month.

Watch out... your posts are searchable on google. Calling him "a notorious skinflint" may lose you the ad!

I sold it to Poor David's Pub...: is that really the name of the pub or you are putting names...! it makes me imagine the possible names for the other pub on the opposite side of the street...! Congratulations & best wishes for you and your client!!!!!!!!
