Word Jams Survey - Are the Jams Dead?

Are they dead? Are they boring?
Have they lost their appeal? Lost their novelty?
What are we doing wrong?
Should we try a different type of event?
Should we invite some new members?

Just wondering....
Hardly anybody has showed up for the jam and it feels like a ghost town.

OK. It's me again being impatient. Why does this not surprise me? lol ... thanks, Judih... I'll believe you.... good night! ... and good morning to you! :)

I'm sorry Doreen. I don't have a good excuse. I've been on and looked at the photos and poems in the jam. Looking good to me, I just didn't have anything sweet pop into mind to add to them yet. Just usually post in them when it hits me over the head, which I'm sure will happen some time.
Keep up the good work. I likes the reading.

That's ok, Dame ....

Really, my honest opinion is that

1) We run them for too long.... 24-48 hours gets more activity than a month
2) They've lost their novelty for our regular members
3) We could use some new members who this is a unique experience for to participate.

Just my opinion ...

But Judih may be right.. I just might be impatient. Also, it's spring, so people are probably outside enjoying themselves. ;)

I might start advertising with Google ads.

I sure hope some more members will chime in on this thread. I'd really like to know what you all think.

Thanks!

Hey, just so you know... YOu won't hurt any of our feelings or anything if you say they're boring now or the excitement has worn off or that they don't work any more and aren't unique any more.

Maybe we should have them for shorter periods of time? Would that help?

Just need to know you're take on it so we can either figure out whether to try some new types of online events or change the Word Jams somehow so they're more interesting and pique your creativity. :)

Thank you!

I used to contribute much more myself. I used to use the Jams as personal poetry workshops where I would write many poems on a theme and work on my writing skills and create a collection of poems every Jam.

I blame myself for not contributing as much lately. I need to write more.

Life has gotten in the way of my ability to create. It's doing the creating and I'm just sitting back going along for the ride.

I should learn a lesson from this and learn to create more, more often, and better create my life which includes contributions to the jam and writing more often and interacting with all of you on S8.

It's Good Friday. I'm crucifying myself.

Thanks for all your replies. :)

Judih was right! The Jam is starting to ROCK!

I need to get back into it myself and write and post photos and art and write and write....

I blame myself, always, when things take time... when everything seems like it's not working... I blame myself when the waiter is slow at the restaurant or the food is cold. I blame myself for everything. It's a terrible fault.

............

Arcadia... This is the hard part about running an event based on seasons when the seasons are different in different areas of the world! Enjoy your autumn but please also enjoy the Spring Jam. And stay protected from those darn mosquitos! xoxo

Studio Eight is definitely your fault
:D

quote] I blame myself for everything. It's a terrible fault[/quote].

Maybe

But sometimes I think it is nobodies fault
it's just asphalt
boy oh boy talk about some nasty work
working on a paving crew In Texas under an August sun
when things would go wrong the foreman would go berserk and we would say to him, "It ain't our fault boss, it's ass-fault"

Just goofin with it
jamming with-it
but I really do keep a close watch on this heart of mine
because I know you do

I blame myself too
Or maybe I try to take responsibility for what I write
Maybe it is vanity or a sense of powerlessness
that drives to pretend there is something I can do about anything
mostly I flow towards Vela these days
Image

my fault your fault Bush's fault, Judas' Fault,
I wonder what Camus would say about it.
one last random note
One thing most men seem to believe is that it is a woman's fault
