Message to all Studio8 Members... Thank you!

Post by Doreen Peri » July 16th, 2011, 2:18 pm

I just wanted to tell you all how happy and proud I am to be the owner of Studio8.

Everybody is reasonably respectful to each other, kind to each other, supportive of each other's writing and artwork and music and everything else.

It is an absolute joy to know all of you!

I've been spending too much time at another website where people attack each other, call each other names, are rude to each other and continually argue and put each other down. It's amazing to me how anybody can enjoy that type of disrespectful posting.

I just wanted to say that I'm soooooo happy that this site is NOT like that and that you all have respect and kindness for each other, along with support for each other's works rather than insults.

Studio8 is a beautiful arts community. It is a breath of fresh air ....

And I'm honored to know each and every one of you.

Thank you very much for being here and being part of our community!

I remember some heavy arguments on this site in the past as well as personal slams but yeah, I don't tolerate that stuff. It didn't last long.

What I don't understand is criticism of people veiled as criticism of art. First off, I'm not much into critique of art unless you purposely join a workshop for that purpose or join a site or forum specifically focused on critiquing and working on your craft.

But anyway, when you put your art out there, you're bound to get critiqued every now and then and I realize that.

It's just the personal slams and argumentativeness that I can't tolerate.

I think I'll spend a lot more time here, at home..... where my internet family treats me kindly.

Support goes a lot farther than criticism in my book. I raised my children this way. I praise their accomplishments rather than put down their mistakes (which we all have). That's the way people grow... as people and as a community. Giving to each other support and accolades and positive reinforcement. I like peace and love, myself, not conflict and war.

:)

Jam on, brothas and sistahs .... I love you all!

Sorry I missed your birthday

I sometimes think about life after studio eight, but not for long. I usually wimp out and try to think about something else.

My world would be even darker if not for the lights of studio eight.

2x i've tried to reply to this and keep getting logged out. Who runs this place anyway? What's this log-out business about? LOL ... HELP James... I need tech help!

Anyway was just trying to say no no no, my birthday isn't until the 21st but we can start partying now if you want! ("another day older and deeper in debt" ... gawd I love the blues)

I just love all you peacenik, hippie, happy, giving, generous poets and artists! Do you know how much I love you!?

I'm so grateful to have you in my life and some of you I've known over 10 years and even those who I've known for much less time, I've grown to love and adore... You're such a talented group of people! I'm honored to have you ALL participating here!

I sure hope we can figure out some type of 8-year anniversary gig so some of us can meet in person here or there or somewhere else. I would dig that bigtime! I want to HUG you all in person!

Thank you again for all your peaceful, artistic natures and your fabulous talents!.,.......

.......

And Wireman, my dear friend, I'll see you on the 26th... I'll be rappin' my words out and dancin' with the mic! Thank you for hosting these monthly events....

Want to make an ARts Center with me? I need partners! Studio8 LIVE!

xoxo
