Cabaradio #3 - Talkin' about it

Post by Doreen Peri » February 24th, 2005, 7:00 pm

Note - The first 8 posts of this topic were split from another thread because we changed the subject to talk about Cabaradio, so I thought I'd move the posts to a new thread.

Hey Kayla - ...... Wireman must be the lucky one... He and I were born the same year and I donno about this all in the mind thing for age 'cause if ya saw me you'd see what time can do to an old body... i've been doin' the same thing I've been doin' since I was a teen, too.... just keep on smokin' and drinkin' like I do and one day you'll have leather-like skin and a tenor voice .... 26 years ago, i was a young good lookin' gal, but now? well, hell, come on down to the next Cabaradio this summer, ok, K? Then you can see for yourself... this artistic lifestyle's gonna be the death of me yet.... Better come meet me quick! I don't know how long I'm gonna last .... i'm fallin' apart, i tell ya! Hurry! ;)

I wouldn't miss this year's Cabaradio for te death of the king. in fact i posted something on genral disscussion ages ago about whether or not there'd be one. NO ONE RESPONDED!!! When is it? Where, where? How can I get booze? How, How!
to you, wire... if I can just keep your youthful dispositon throught my aging... then life will be sweet!

awwww shucks, marko... yer too sweet... I wasn't fishin' for a compliment, really, I wasn't... I really AM falling apart! No lie! It's all downhill from here so I better start thinkin' about livin' it up, y'know? And guess when I'm starting? that's right! You got it! right NOW! ;)

izeveryKayla - Well, damn! I saw your Cabaradio post and I saw that nobody replied and y'know what? BEFORE that, I had posted two posts... TWO... count 'em... TWO... one that told people we had finally gotten the tape and were watching last June's show and NOBODY replied to it! And another one that said something about having a Cabaradio 3 show this summer and asked if anybody was interested.... and guess what? NOBODY replied to it! NObody. Geezzzz.... soooo... I was sorta embarrassed 'cause I thought well, not one soul is interested in doin' another show and when I saw your post, I was going to reply and tell you about the other posts, but I figured, hell, that would be overkill for NOBODY being interested except YOU... LOL!... so I figured I'd email ya or pm ya or something once we had more info....

But the deal is, we wanna do a show in June or July. At a theater, probably. We haven't picked a date or a venue, yet. But if we do it in Arlington, it's possible we could get the Arlington TV station to come out and tape it.

There won't be a show without enough interest. I've got connections to some local talent over here, but we sure would LOVE to call it the very first Studio Eight LIVE! production and have some S8 people come out, like you and wireman and others.....

Oh, and another thing.... I saw your post about your improv group... We would LOVE to have a couple of you from the improv group and/or maybe a couple from Mars' improv group, too... wouldn't that be too cool? To have some comedy improv segments in the show?

excellent! I was alos worried that nobody gave a fuck. I was so devastated because I wasn't able to make it there last year. My friend (who has beat her cancer by the way) needed me, therefore, I had to make a jester of myself for her amusement and smoke only with my head stuck out the window at midnight. I'll definetly be there, come hell or high water!! Just let me know about it. And I'l talk to the curator to see if he'd OK. If not, we could all just go anyway, but then, we'd have to pay for it... and we're like.. you know.. college students and like, you know poor.

Kaylaboyin- ;) We're hoping to pick a date soon.... We're thinking of renting a cabin nearby for people to stay in for a weekend. I did this before and it worked out great! They have 3-4 bedroom cabins near where we live right on the potomac river. But we'll only do that if we have enough interest from out-of-towners to warrent it and whatever contributions people can give to the cause would be appreciated. If there are only a couple of out-of-towners and you are one of them, you are welcome to stay here.

All of this is a little premature 'cause we don't have a date or a venue yet, but we're thinking about it outloud so that's a good thing! Glad to hear you're interested! We'd love to meet you and have you in the show!

Marko - you sound like a busy man! You're a regular walkin' talkin' sculptin' art show! I love it! Good for you! We'll keep you posted.... And I will be making copies of the tape from the last show in DVD form and one will be saved for you!

I'm thinking of splitting this topic and moving all of the Cabaradio talk into a separate thread. What do you all think?

Man, I'd love to come and participate, but I don't know if it will be possible

I bet Buck & Clint would like to come as well, we could improvise songs. That would be neat. Or maybe I could get Ben to come too, and we could play some tribalesque music with drums and didjeridous

But I don't know if I'd be able to make it

This is, quite possibly, one of the most humorous posts I've read. heh

OK, Mars. Sounds great! I'm sorry you might not be able to make it. Can't wait to meet you! Looking forward to the music and improv and meeting your friends. Too bad you can't come.

LOL!
